Chapter 167
When Klein showed up at the Summer Garden in a crisp suit, he looked completely out of place next to Whitney, and khan who were both dressed very casually.
Whitney shot him a look and said, “Didn t say we were boating today?”
Klein had never really visited tourist spots like this, so he was totally clueless about what people usually wore
Besides, he’d just rushed over straight from a morning meeting at the office.
Not everyone’s got that much free time.
Ethan chuckled and said, “Thanks for making the effort, Klein. Didn’t expect you to dress up People might think you’re our bodyguard.
Klein was speechless.
‘Fine, I’ll remember that, Klein thought to himself.
Whitney hardly ever got a chance to just kick back and do the tourist thing. The view was nice, but she was a little bored
“You tired, Whit? Now that Ethan’s joined us, it’s fine if we have to tough it out a little. I mean, these places are usually only popular with the older crowd anyway,” Klein joked.
Klein asked, pretending to be curious, “So, Ethan, how old are you?”
Ethan was older than Whitney, but that didn’t necessarily mean he was older than Klein.
But Klein didn’t hold back. “It’s cool, Ethan, no worries. But you know, you’re not exactly a spring chicken anymore Maybe you should start thinking about finding yourself a wife.”
‘Look, Ethan, I’m just calling it like I see it. Don’t get mad, okay?” Klein said, putting on his best innocent act
Ethan was speechless.
The two men kept trading jabs the whole way. Whitney tried to step in at first, but eventually just shrugged and let them squabble.
Whitney couldn’t help but think, ‘The older these men get, the more immature they seem
Put their ages together and they’re almost fifty, but mentally? They’re no older than five, she thought, shaking her head After three days of this, Ethan finally threw in the towel and said he was going off to do his own thing
He honestly couldn’t take another minute of his sharp-tongued cousin-in-law Klem was driving han crazy
During those three days, Klein even considered fixing Ethan up with eighteen blind dates, just to keep him busy and
his hair.
‘How can anyone be so annoying?’ Ethan complained secretly
Seeing he’d finally gotten his way, Klein put on an exaggerated look of pity Sorry it I wasn’t the perfect host Ethan Please forgive me.”
“But hey, I’ve got this childhood friend’s sister. She’s really something you sure you don’t wanna meet her” Klein teased

an rolled his eyes and said. “Nope
“What a shame. Anyway, hope you find someone soon, Ethat. You’re not exactly a kid anymore, so maybe don’t be so picky Opportunities like this don’t came around every day, you know,” Klein joked
Ethan pretty much kicked Klein out of his hotel
Klein rubbed his nose, giving Whitney his best puppy-dog eyes. “Baby, I was just trying to help Your cousin’s so mean
“Shut up! Let’s go home!” Whitney snapped.
Whitney just gave up. He was really something.
Klein just grinned, not even bothered. ‘Finally, we can actually go on our honeymoon, he thought, feeling pretty pleased with himself.
Dustin sent Klein a bunch of honeymoon destinations, but all Klein ever did was reply with a single dot.
[Klein, seriously, where do you even want to go?] Dustin finally asked.
Klein shrugged. [Why not just go to an island? I bought two of them.]
“Actually, I got one for you too. They’re side by side. One of them is yours, and the other is mine. You’re welcome.” Klem said, sounding way too casual.
So, technically they were going on a honeymoon together…. but it didn’t really feel like it.
Klein was absolutely thrilled with how things turned out.
Dustin checked the price of those islands and didn’t hesitate to say yes.
‘Klein, I’m seriously moved! I knew you’d never be stingy with your friend,” Dustin said, grinning from ear to ear
Klein just stared at him, speechless.
I just said he could have some fun on it. I never said I was handing it oyer, Klein thought, rolling his eyes.
Both islands were registered under his name anyway. What was Dustin even getting all emotional about?
Two private jets took off, each heading for a different island
Whitney couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed “Klein, why can’t we just hang out together”
“It’s just not appropriate. Lena and Dustin barely know each other, so they need some ume alone to get to know cachother better. Besides…” Klein said, putting on his most serious face, “Dustm’s got a screw loose. Hang out with him too long and you’ll end up jinxed.”
Klein could make up rumors on the spot without even blinking
“Baby, let’s just have our own fun,” Klein said, wrapping an arm around her
“How about we go surfing this afternoon? Want to give it a try?” he asked, grinning
Whitney’s eyes lit up. “Yes, I want to try!”

i was arring the sun holed up in her hotel room and just gazing out at the ocean. “Ugh, this is so boring she unbird
Dustin drew the curtain clod. Want me to give you a massage?
Lena considered it for a moment “Alright
But Dustin kept turning up the heat. Just before Lena lost consciousness, she cursed him in her heart.
Got tricked again, she thought, annoyed.
Whitney was picking up surfing pretty fast. Klein held onto her safety rope, grinning. “Dare to let go? Think you can handle

Whitney was still nervous and shook her head. “No, I’m too scared!”
She chickened out in a flash.
Klein smiled softly, “Don’t look at your feet. Don’t look at the waves.”
‘Eyes on me, baby! Just look at me,” he coaxed, his voice gentle and reassuring.
Whenever Whitney looked at him, she’d get this weird feeling, like reality was slipping for a second.
She could swear she saw her own reflection shining in his eyes.
That look in his eyes was just for her.
It made her feel safe, like nothing in the world could touch her.
‘Relax. Just shift your stance a bit, and keep your toes steady,” Klein’s voice had this strange, irresistible pull. like she could just let herself go and trust him with everything. “Slowly let go of the rope.”
‘Forget everything else, baby. Just look at me,” Klein said softly, his eyes locked on Whitney’s, steady and warm
Her heart grew calm as she loosened her grip on the rope, the wind whipping past her and the salty tang of the ocean all around.
She finally knew what freedom was at this very moment.
They hung out together until the sun went down, just soaking up every moment.
Whitney clapped excitedly. “Tm coming back for more tomorrow!”
Did you surf a lot when you were abroad?” she asked.
Klein nodded and said, “Yeah, whenever I needed to chill out, I’d go surfing There’s this sense of satisfaction you get when you’re speeding across the ocean,”
Especially on those days when I missed her so much, Klein thought to himself
When Whitney finally made it back to shore, she grabbed her phone
“That’s odd. I messaged Lena at noon and she still hasn’t replied.” Whitney muttered, a little puzzled
“Maybe they’re just busy having fun,” Whitney shrugged

Wein wasn’t worried at all
Like Dustin could actually lose my niece. Klein thought with a smirk.
Dustin definitely wouldn’t love her. He just kept her so busy in bed that she ended up totally knocked out
ANNA TARK
After dinner, Klein and Whitney didn’t head back to their room. Instead, Klein took her out to be together under the starry sky.
Whitney lounged on a beach chair, completely relaxed.
The whole sky was glittering with stars. They were bright that it felt like she could reach out and touch them
This feels amazing, Klein. Let’s come back here every year, okay?” Whitney said, her voice soft and happy
