Sorry for Your Loss, It's Me, I'm the Loss novel Chapter 523

“Yeah,” Yvonne nodded.

Bennett took her hand and led her out of the auditorium.

As Bennett guided her away, Yvonne instinctively glanced back to see Mr. Walker sitting among the leadership, laughing and chatting animatedly.

The image seared itself into her mind, sharp and painful, before slowly blurring.

Bennett held her hand all the way out of the police academy gates.

It seemed this trip to her alma mater had not been a pleasant one.

On the way back, Yvonne sat in the passenger seat, silent and brooding.

“What’s wrong? Why the long face?” Bennett asked with concern as the car entered a less congested stretch of road. He kept one hand on the steering wheel and used the other to hold hers.

Yvonne turned to him, hesitating for a moment before her lips parted. Her voice was slightly hoarse. “I know how I died in my past life.”

Bennett’s brow furrowed, his eyes darkening instantly. “Was it April?” he asked, his voice low.

Yvonne nodded, a heavy sorrow clouding her features.

“Before Colin was arrested, he once had a whim to take me to meet a friend. We waited at a private club for over two hours, but the person never showed. Later, Colin got a call saying his friend wasn't coming, so he lost interest and took me home.”

She paused before continuing, “The person Colin wanted me to meet that day must have been Vincent. Since Colin was bringing me, his mistress, Mr. Walker naturally wouldn't have brought Mrs. Walker. He must have brought April. She recognized me, and that's why they left in a hurry.”

“Today, I overheard a conversation between Mr. Lee and April. April, acting as my former mentor, repeatedly probed Mr. Lee about me. He eventually hinted that my withdrawal from school was for a mission. Given how sharp and observant April is, she would have figured out I was undercover with Colin.”
