Chapter 109 The Man Who Refused His Daughter

Estelle’s companions all assumed she was talking about the rejection that had just happened, and collectively gasped. However, Estelle had been referring to something else entirely.

Two days earlier, her father had tried to introduce her to a potential political marriage. Yet, she’d been rejected. Estelle had been turned down for the first time in her life. Her first reaction wasn’t anger. Instead, it was shock. She wanted to know who the

man was.

She’d asked her father about it afterward, but he hadn’t been very explicit. He’d only said that the man who refused her possessed exceptional medical skills and had a solid grasp of geomancy and metaphysics. Most importantly, he was very young.

Those three traits matched perfectly with the man who had just rejected her.

Silverton didn’t have many young people with outstanding medical expertise to begin with.

Coupled with the fact that he had a mastery of geomancy and metaphysics, the ability to identify cursed goods at a glance and distinguish them from genuine antiques, the list narrowed down even further. It was practically a closed case.

That was it. There was no doubt about it. The man who’d rejected her just now was the very same man who’d rejected her the day before. They didn’t even know each other. Yet, he’d turned her down twice in a row.

The realization left Estelle stunned and made her genuinely curious about a man for the first time in her life.

Third time’s the charm,Estelle thought, a faint smile curling at her lips. I won’t be rejected a third time.

Achoo!

Sylvie suddenly sneezed whilst at the hospital, a strange chill running through her. She lifted her head and glared at a sharply dressed Silverton mayor, Sean Laurent.

Didn’t Evan already turn him down?Sylvie muttered unhappily. Why is he still here?

Although Sean’s offer had been turned down, he continued to drop by every day to chat casually with Gaius. Even the blind could tell just what his real motive was.

Just then, Evan arrived.

After he left the antique street, he went straight to the special care facility where Gaius was staying.

Evan’s here? Quick, come in!Gaius lit up the moment he saw him. He had never met a young man like Evan before. There was an undeniable feeling of regret at not having known him sooner.

Gaius said cheerfully, turning to him, Sean, haven’t you been eager to find out just who the legendary doctor was that saved my life? He’s right in front of you.

Sean was instantly taken aback, for he knew the young man.

The Solberg couple had once brought Evan to a Silverton investment gala Sean had hosted. He was also aware of Evan’s relationship with Hazel, Roxanne, and Anya.

What he hadn’t expected, nor had it even crossed his mind, was that the young legendary doctor who had saved Gaiuswas Evan.

He’d assumed it was some other prodigy. That was why he’d gone so far as to introduce his daughter for a match. Which meant the man who’d rejected Estellehad also been Evan?

Sean’s expression flickered with disbelief. For a brief moment, he even wondered if there had been some mistake.

Sir, let’s begin,Evan said calmly, unaware of the storm in Sean’s inind as he started the treatment.

Sean observed from the side Whatever Evan was doing looked simple enough. All Evan did was place the needles at a certain spot. Nevertheless, the results were immediate. Gaiuscomplexion visibly improved before their very eyes.

You’re incredible, Evan!Sylvie and Ivana were both visibly delighted, their expressions bright with joy.
