Chapter 110 A Father’s Realization, A Daughter’s Pursuit
Just the image in their minds was enough to make one’s blood heat with fiery passion. Even Sean, who had no stake in this, felt his heart surge with exciternent.
As for Sylvie and Ivana, their gazes were practically burning. Their fateful encounter with Evan had changed everything. It wasn’t an exaggeration to say that he had single–handedly altered the fate of the entire Stanton family.
Sean couldn’t help but raise his hand in a formal salute toward Evan. “Mr. Norwood, before I entered politics, I spent several years in the military. Strictly speaking, I’m half a soldier. Today, I want to offer you my sincere thanks from the bottom of my heart.
“Thank you for saving Gaius and ensuring that Draganland’s war god still stands.”
There wasn’t a trace of political polish in his words. It was undeniable that they came straight from the heart.
Evan was immediately taken aback. “You flatter me, sir. I’m just doing my job…”
He was the mayor of Silverton, someone even the Overlord of Silverton had to show respect to. The Solberg family itself treated him with reverence. Yet here he was, bowing in gratitude.
“Hm?”
Just as Sean was about to straighten up, Evan’s expression suddenly changed. His gaze locked onto the antique bracelet around Sean’s left wrist.
“Sir, hold up. Where did you get this bracelet?” Evan asked gravely.
When they’d shaken hands earlier, Evan saw an evident wisp of black energy escape the bracelet.
“Oh, this? It was a birthday gift from my daughter.” Sean beamed, then looked at Evan curiously. “Is there something wrong with it?”
“How long have you been wearing it?” Evan asked.
“Almost three years. Why?”
The Stantons all turned their attention toward them, their expressions filled with surprise.
“After you started wearing it, did you notice that you got sick less often after wearing it, but have the tendency to feel tired easily?” Evan inquired calmly.
“Huh? How did you know?” The mayor asked in surprise.

“This bracelet isn’t blessed, it’s a cursed object. It feeds on your vitality over time to strengthen itself,” Evan said icily and yanked the bracelet off Sean’s wrist.
He crushed the bracelet, and a burst of black energy crackled out with a shrill, piercing scream. It definitely sounded like the howl of a vengeful spirit
“What on Earth…”
Everyone was shaken, especially Sylvie, who had personally witnessed malevolent entities in the past. She had turned stark white right then and there.
Sean was the first to react. He dropped to his knees with a thud. “Thank you, Mr. Norwood, for saving my life!”
“You said this bracelet was a gift from your daughter, but I don’t think she knew about this,” Evan said evenly.
“Yes, she didn’t,” Sean replied, nodding heavily. “I’ll be very careful about this in the future. I’ll investigate it thoroughly.”
A cold glint flashed through Sean’s eyes. Evan had not only saved his life, but he had also erased any lingering doubts in his

heart. A man like this had to become his son–in–law. Although it would mean that Estelle would be a mistress, it would still be an honor beyond measure.
On the way home, Sean began thinking about how to talk things through with Estelle. She was proud by nature, after all. She was likely furious after being rejected by a stranger.
