They hadn’t been able to wait any longer.
Cain had already proven that Evan stole the drakeblood gemstone.
They had told Hazel to bring Evan home as soon as possible, but she kept delaying the task.
Thus, they made their move.
Even if they had to kidnap him, Evan had to return to their home.
From the very start, they believed the Solberg Residence was the only place where Evan would stay protected.
Nowhere else would do.
They had not told Hazel what they would be doing. Instead, they acted on their own.
Facing Darius together, they said coldly, “We know you’re the Norwood heir who hurt Evan. But understand this-the Solberg family will stand against you if we must.”
The words struck Evan like a wave.
He never expected that, in the end, the ones standing beside him would be Stefan and Cynthia, the very people whom he had already distanced himself from.
It was a rather strange feeling.
As if something he had lost had quietly returned.
“Evan, don’t be afraid,” Cynthia said softly, her eyes red. “We’re here. We’ll take you home.”
“Okay.”
This time, he did not object. Instead, he allowed Stefan and Cynthia to guide him out of the area.
As they passed Darius, Evan paused.
His eyes were icy. “Mr. and Mrs. Solberg saved you this time.”
He wasn’t exaggerating.
If they hadn’t arrived when they did, Darius would already be dead.
They had saved Darius more than Evan.

Darius responded with a dismissive smirk. “Just give up! Stop acting like you’re all that. You’re the one who has been saved again by the Solberg family.”
The more he observed, the more he realized Evan Tiad cut off all ties with the Solberg family.
The cooldown period for the divorce application Evan signed with Hazel was about to be over:
Even so, Darius did not mention it.
That was because he did not want his fun to be over so soon
Cain would definitely go after Evan. No one could change that fact.
By bringing Evan home, the Solberg family was openly positioning themselves against Cain.
One wrong move, and they could be destroyed.
It won’t just be Evan dying then. The entirety of the Solberg family would be doomed.
“Let’s go. The storm’s coming.”
Soon, Darius and his gang left.
Inside the car…
Cynthia clutched at Evan’s hand, too scared to even relax for one second.
She kept crying. Her eyes were bloodshot.
She kept talking, her voice trembling. She hadn’t slept or eaten properly since hearing about the drakeblood gemstone.
She was utterly terrified that Cain would kill him.
Evan merely smiled in response. “Mrs. Solberg, I’ll be fine. Mr. Solomon can’t do anything to me.”
To his surprise, their faces turned stark white upon hearing that. Cynthia hurriedly slammed her hands over his mouth.
“Evan, don’t ever say that again! We’ll protect you!”
She squeezed his hand again. “We’ve even invited the deputy mayor to stand as guarantor…”
This time, he merely smiled.
That so-called guarantor was absolutely useless.

The last time he visited the mayor’s home, he had already said he wouldn’t be getting involved in this matter.
He wouldn’t drag anyone into this anyway.
However, Evan did not refuse the request to return to the Solberg Residence.
For one, he did not want to disappoint Stefan and Cynthia.
Hazel had also not stayed in the Solberg Residence for quite a while now. He was not at all opposed to a house without her in it.
After arriving home, the couple prepared a lavish meal for Evan.
She kept placing food onto his plate.
“Don’t go anywhere during this period. It’s best if you don’t leave the house at all. Just rest and relax,” she said.
“Alright.”
Unable to hold strong against her constant muttering, Evan relented.

With Sylvie and Estelle around, he wasn’t eager to return to Nine Courts anyway. This solved that problem for him, so he began staying at the Solberg Residence.
The only difference was the place he trained.
“Mom, Dad, I’m home!”
