Chapter 198 Evan’s Hint

Evan’s only way out was to stay with them. That meant Evan must do as they told him to. He had to stay with them and cease causing them trouble. The thought filled the heiresses with ecstasy.

Evan was getting out of control lately. He had defied them over and over again. The heiresses were more than annoyed.

Zeke was watching the show too. He smiled, but his smile was cold and dark. Something chilling gleamed in his eyes. “That’s your fate, Evan. You ll have to give me your blood all your life, or I’ll make Hazel kick you out!”

Back in the Norwood estate, everyone was looking at Evan with sympathy. James, Josephine, the sisters, and the Norwoods’ main branch were looking at him with cruel satisfaction.

There was no doubt that they were saying, ‘You might have ruined us, but you shot yourself in the foot too!’

Darius, who was hiding behind everyone, looked like a ravenous beast. He knew about Evan’s situation. The Solbergs’ heiress didn’t care about him, and they were about to get divorced.

Once they did, Evan would have no ties to the Solbergs. When that happened, he’d end up worse than Darius.

To everyone’s surprise, Evan laughed heartily. This was a joke to him. Cain wanted him to stay with the Solbergs if he wanted to stay alive. However, Evan was still living fine without any ties to them.

If Cain wanted to come after him, fine. He’d make sure Cain paid dearly.

Cain hung up and let Gabriel deal with the rest. “Hear that, punk? I’d stay with the Solbergs for life if I were you. I’ll keep a close eye on you. If you leave them, you’ll have to face hell!” He glared at Evan sharply and sliced his throat with a finger. That was a warning.

“Really? We shall see about that, Gabriel.” Evan smirked cryptically. “Soon, you’ll know your father’s threats are pointless.”

He would get that divorce in a week.

The heiresses were too far away to hear Evan, but they noticed his smile. They wrongly assumed that he was relieved. They assumed that he was relieved that he’d found a lifeline and didn’t have to live in insecurity.

The heiresses thought that smile confirmed that Evan was terrified in the days after Cain said he’d step in himself. That was why he desperately needed a peaceful life. Now that the dust had settled, he was relieved that he could stay safe under the Solbergs’ protection.

The heiresses were cackling inwardly. They thought Evan’s pride and dignity were gone. They looked down on him.

Now that things were settled, the reporters started to pack their things. Evan left as well.

“He’s gone, Hazel!”

“After him! I need to talk to him!” Now that Hazel thought she had the higher ground, she wasn’t going to let

Evan do whatever he wanted.

The Norwoods called an emergency meeting to discuss the family’s future.

Alice said, “I think there’s something more pressing to deal with, besides the reimbursement.”

“What is it?” Everyone was listening.

Alice said seriously, “Where’d Evan get that mountain of evidence?”
