Chapter 204 Underlying Currents
Sylvie felt like she was about to lose her mind.
Just then, Ivana called her over for something, so she had no choice but to drop the argument.
“Bye!”
Estelle waved at her sweetly, looking utterly pleased with herself.
That smug smile was enough to make Sylvie’s blood boil.
At that moment, the war officially began.

“Aunt Ivana, what did you need me for? The drakeblood gemstone issue’s already been resolved.”
When Sylvie arrived at Ivana’s house, she downed three glasses of ice water in a row before finally calming herself.
Ivana blinked in surprise.
“I wasn’t planning to ask about the drakeblood gemstone.”
Then, she smiled slightly.
“I actually wanted to ask–Evan’s divorce cooling–off period with his ex–wife is almost over, isn’t it?”
“Yes. Only seven days left.”
“Is that so? Seven days…”
Ivana’s eyes flickered thoughtfully.
“What’s wrong, Aunt Ivana?”
Sensing something odd, Sylvie frowned.
Because of their family connection, even though she knew Ivana and Evan were close, she had never given it much thought.
“Nothing.”
Ivana smiled lightly.
“I was just thinking how everything seems to be happening at once.
“Seven days isn’t much time. You’d better move quickly. A lot of people have their eyes on Evan… especially Estelle.”
She offered the warning in an even tone.

“I know, Aunt Ivana. I was just arguing with her earlier–it drove me crazy. But I’m not backing down!”
Now that her anger had faded, Sylvie spoke with renewed determination.
After seeing Sylvie out, Ivana slowly rose to her feet.
Her graceful figure stood by the window as she gazed into the distance.
“Cortex Team, what do you think?”
A figure appeared silently behind her like a shadow.
He was the leader of the Cortex Team.
“I believe you should follow your heart.”
Hearing that answer, Ivana laughed softly.
“Follow my heart, huh… Among all of my father’s children, I’m the only one who’s still unmarried.”
Her sigh faded into the quiet room as dim sunlight filtered in through the window and fell across her body.
Even the simplest outline of her figure was enough to stir wild thoughts and greedy imaginations.
And the words she spoke carried a deeper meaning.
Nearly everyone who had dealings with Evan was paying attention to this matter.
At a military camp on the outskirts of the city, Victor noticed something strange.
Aria had started wearing makeup recently.
Even her style of dress had changed.
On days when she wasn’t training, she wore bright red dresses and took extra care with her appearance.
Was she trying to look beautiful for someone?
Evan, however, knew nothing about any of this.
He was in seclusion, focusing on cultivation and pushing the Ninefold Arcane Arts to a higher level.
During this time, he also checked on the progress of gathering the ingredients for the Leighton family’s life–saving drug.
The herbs for that medicine were far too rare, and the search was ongoing.
Evan had only one instruction.

“Hurry.”
Because once the divorce was finalized, he would cut ties with two of the three heiresses completely.
Only Roxanne would remain.
No one could understand how determined Evan was to sever his connections with Hazel and the others. 2
Meanwhile, on Stefan and Cynthia’s side, they were still discussing how to make Evan apologize to Hazel.
“I think we should host a gathering,” Stefan suggested. “We can invite the Leighton family, the Golden family, and a few other relatives and friends. Then we’ll have Evan apologize to Hazel and the others.”
As soon as he said that, Cynthia immediately agreed.
She understood that the three heiresses stood together. It wouldn’t be enough for Evan to apologize to their daughter alone.
Evan would also have to apologize to Roxanne and Anya.
“But we still haven’t convinced Evan…” Cynthia said, her expression darkening again.
They knew Evan’s personality well.
He wouldn’t even lower his head to Hazel and the others in private, let alone in front of a crowd.
“Then we just don’t tell him the real reason for the dinner,” Stefan said. 2
Cynthia’s eyes lit up.
“That’s perfect! Get him there first, then we’ll talk!”
That very evening, Evan received a phone call from Stefan.
