Chapter 21 Casting Aside Names

What Zeke said made Hazel, Roxanne, and Anya even more furious

“Evan, we’ve said it time and again. We saved you, so you can’t disobey a single order from us. If you do this again, you’ll be punished!”

Anya was seething with hatred for Evan.

Even sweet and gentle Roxanne was shouting. “Evan, where are the Bulgari necklace and ring I bought for you? Did you take them off? Who gave you the right?”

The three of them could allow Evan’s repeated objections, but they could never tolerate Evan showing any signs of having his

own opinions.

All of his outfits were styled by them. However, Evan was now wearing something that was completely different.

Such an act made them feel betrayed.

It was intolerable to them.

“On your knees, Evan!” Hazel barked out through gritted teeth.

This was the most rebellious Evan had ever been in the past three years.

As for the one who started this mess, Zeke merely smirked at Evan as he hid behind the three women. There was a taunting glint in his eyes.

He looked prepared to witness an interesting show.

However, Evan did not get on his knees. Instead, he glanced at the woman and blandly asked, “Why should I kneel before you? Just who are you?”.

Hazel was shocked speechless by his response.

Roxanne and Anya were similarly shocked.

Even Zeke was looking at Evan with surprise.

‘What did he just say? Just who are we?’ they all thought.

“W-What did you just say?” Hazel was starting to wonder if there was something wrong with her hearing. “Are you deaf?”

This time, Evan roared. “I said, why should I kneel before you? Do you even deserve it? Oh, right. From now on, I’m no longer Evan Solberg. My name is Evan Norwood!”

His roar sounded like a lightning strike, causing Hazel, Roxanne, and Anya’s ears to ring in agony.

Hazel froze.

Roxanne and Anya felt like they were looking at a stranger.

Was this still the same man they knew?

He actually shouted at them.

“You…”

As the one with the most explosive temper, Anya instinctively wanted to shout back. However, when she raised her head, she was met with a glacial and forbidding gaze.

As her eyes fffet Evan’s, Anya felt a sudden chill running down her spine. She reflexively took a step back while her words were stuck in her throat.

In that moment, one question echoed in the three heiresses’ minds. Just what was going on with Evan? He seemed so different

now!

In contrast to their shock, Zeke stepped forward with a look of sorrow. “Evan, how can you talk like that to them? Did you forget how they saved you three years ago? Without them, you would be dead by now.

“I know that you’ve suffered a lot lately because of me, but can’t you just tolerate it? When I’m going in a few more months, you can continue with your old life. Hazel and the others will be yours again.”

Due to how agitated he was, Zeke started coughing as he spoke. His face grew stark white.

Hazel, Roxanne, and Anya did not expect Zeke to defend them. As they silently watched, their eyes turned bloodshot.

“Zeke, you’re wrong! You won’t die. Also, even without you, we would never return to Evan!”

Haze could not hold herself back from shouting.

Roxanne and Anya nodded as well.

Evari burst out in laughter when he saw this.

After all, that was what they truly thought.

A substitute could only ever be a substitute.

If Zeke truly died, these three would never stay with Evan.

Perhaps they might even go mad…

While coughing, Zeke grabbed Evan’s hand.

To an outsider, it would seem like Zeke had merely reached out to keep himself upright while suffering through a severe

coughing fit.

However, Evan saw the murderous glow in Zeke’s eyes.

In a voice that only the two men could hear, Zeke snarled and said, “Evan, you son of a bitch! How dare you appear before us again! I already know that you’ve decided to leave Hazel and the others. Since you want to leave, just do it already!
