Chapter 237 Return the Wealth

Since he’d successfully recreated the first drug, the second one came easily to him. Evan figured it’d take him one day to make another. So, he spent the rest of his time making energy drugs for Stefan and Cynthia-one for each.

The energy drug was not as great as the life-saving drug, but it was still rare and worked wonders for the body. The energy drug could replenish one’s blood, strengthen the body, and even slow or reverse aging.

The price tag on it was sky-high. Some people would spend hundreds of millions just to get one. Evan made these drugs with the intent of repaying Stefan and Cynthia’s kindness. Unlike their daughter, Stefan and Cynthia had been good to Evan.

The heiresses loved to use the favors their families did for him as leverage. So, Evan decided to repay them twice the amount he owed.

Thus, the Leightons would get two life-saving drugs while the Solbergs would get 150 million and an energy drug for Stefan and Cynthia, respectively.

As for the Goldens, they already had their chance of slapping Hugo back. So, all that was left was for Hugo to return the double wealth that he’d taken from them.

Evan told Hugo about it and handed him something called a debt settlement letter. The Goldens would be out of his hair once they signed it. On that note, Evan would also have the Leightons sign the same letter after he gave them the life-saving drugs.

The Solbergs have already signed the estrangement notice. All that was left was the divorce certificate, and it’d be all over.

Graham and his daughter were stunned when Hugo dropped by once more. They were terrified. He’d left a while ago, so they couldn’t help but wonder what led him back to their abode. Could it be bad news?

“M-Mr. Wells, what do you need?” Anya asked fearfully.

“Calm down. I’m giving you back the wealth I took from you. Here’s the contract.”

Graham and Anya went through the contract, and the content blew their minds. “You’re doubling the return?”

Anya thought this was a dream. Graham’s shaking only got worse.

“W-Why?” He couldn’t understand what was happening, and he didn’t have the courage to sign the papers even if it was beneficial to him. Hugo came to get slapped just to cut off all ties with Evan, so why’d he return the stolen wealth this time?

Graham had always believed there was something more behind every move people like Hugo made. No one would bow to those weaker than them unless they had very good reason to. The law of the jungle was always the only law in their circle.

Hugo put on a fake smile. “It’s about Evan again. Once the wealth is returned, the grudge and favors we dice had are gone.” He stared at Anya and added, “I’ve given back what I took, and doubly so. Sign the papers.”

That struck Anya as odd. She thought, ‘Why are you staring at me? What’s your grudge with my father have to do with me?

Still, there were three debt settlement letters with Evan’s, Graham’s, and Hugo’s names on them aside from the contract. Hugo didn’t stay to chat, leaving right after Graham and Anya signed the papers.

Although this was a complete surprise, Graham was still overjoyed.

Anya asked in disbelief, “Whoa, did Mr. Wells repay Evan’s debt for him? But the slaps were already the repayment.”

She didn’t want to admit that Evan had ties to Hugo, but the man said he had. She couldn’t figure out how Evan made Hugo show up again to return the stolen wealth, and how he convinced Hugo to double it.

Graham gasped. “I get it! He’s settling all scores with Evan and us! Hugo will no longer have any ties to us once he gives as hac all that money!”
