Chapter 241 New Life
Evan alone knew how excited he was. This day was a new beginning for him.
The heiresses had controlled every aspect of his life in the past. They were so awful that he wasn’t allowed a single opinion of his own. Now… Now, he would be free. The doom and gloom that had been etched across his brows vanished.
Instead, it was replaced with pure, unadulterated joy.
He could start anew. Besides, the divorce wasn’t the only agenda on his list. He was cutting off all ties with his oppressive past.
‘Hazel must be furious,’ Evan thought with delight as he didn’t even see her once during the grace period.
Although Evan had secluded himself over the last couple of days, he could figure out what
Hazel was thinking. She must’ve been waiting for his apology, thinking she had the high ground. She thought Cain would attack him once he was without her protection.
Evan mused, ‘But do you even know that Cain doesn’t scare me? He’s nothing but an insect to me.’
His new life had officially begun. He had more important stuff to do than dealing with the heiresses’ drama.
To his surprise, no one was there to greet him when he left his room. Sylvie and Estelle were gone. The only one left puttering about was Artemisia, who was cleaning the place. He couldn’t help but ask, ” Where have they gone?”
Artemisia answered, “Ms. Stanton and Ms. Laurent left yesterday. They claim they have important business to attend to.”
Evan nodded.
He didn’t think much about it, but then he noticed the look Artemisia was giving him. She wanted to say something but was clearly hesitating. “Is there something you want to say?”
“N-No…” she replied nothing in the end. Sylvie and Estelle told her not to tell Evan. Apparently, they had a surprise planned.
Still, Evan would know that the entire city’s wedding gowns had been bought out the second he turned on the TV or even scrolled his phone. Every single heiress in the city was fighting for a gown, Sylvie and Estelle included.
These heiresses weren’t content with trying the clothes out.
No, they also wanted to stop their rivals from trying out their options and figure out the gowns their rivals were planning to purchase.
Women could be terrifying when it came to staking their claim on a mate. The city had turned into a

Evan went to his room for a shower, shrugging it off. He wanted to wash off all the bad luck and start the day with nothing but good fortune.
This was the first day of his new life. So, sue him if he wanted to turn things symbolic.
He changed into a new suit after taking a shower. He had a perfect figure, so everything looked great on him. The suit made him look sharper and more imposing.
Artemisia was elated to see this side of him. Her eyes were sparkling. ‘Mr. Norwood’s so handsome. It’s like the suit was made for him! He’s hotter than Zeke! That guy’s always so sickly.
‘Hazel and her friends must be blind for giving up a perfect man for a dying one. Well, three women’s trash is a whole city’s ladies’ treasure.’
Artemisia wanted to be one of Evan’s admirers, but Caleb had warned her against it. He scolded her, “Are you stupid? You’re his student, while those girls aren’t! I’m not stopping you from going after his love, but
can you even guarantee success?
“You might lose your spot as his protege if you bungle this up!”
That snapped Artemisia out of her infatuation.
Her back had been drenched with cold sweat once her rationality returned to her. The fact that she was Evan’s protege meant she was closer to him than most women. She really shouldn’t fall for greed’s
whispers.
Perhaps the ladies envied her for her closeness to him. She wasn’t better than most of them, but she was closer to Evan than they could ever be.
Of course, Evan was oblivious to her thoughts.
He went straight to the courthouse after he got changed.
At the same time, No. 9, Nine Courts…
