Chapter 253 A Name That Still Stands
“Hm?”
Stefan’s words hit like a thunderclap. He sounded so bold and brazen that everyone turned to stare at him in utter shock.
He didn’t just catch Gabriel and the Norwoods off guard because even the three heiresses couldn’t help but widen their eyes in bewilderment.
Evan and Hazel were already divorced. So, how could he still be part of the Solberg family?
“Hahaha… Stefan, who the hell do you think you’re fooling?”
“Your daughter has already dumped that b*stard. So, how could you still call him part of the Solberg family?”
“If you’re going to lie, at least make it a believable one!”
The Norwoods immediately called him out.
James sneered, his eyes full of mockery.
It wasn’t hard to see that Stefan was trying to protect Evan.
Unfortunately for him, he had no more cards left on the table.
The divorce was finalized. By all logic, Evan no longer had anything to do with the Solberg family.
Gabriel could do whatever he wanted with Evan now, and no one would dare stop him.
If anyone was being unreasonable, it was Stefan.
Gabriel’s expression darkened, a flicker of cruel killing intent flashing through his eyes.
Then, he intoned coldly, “Stefan, go ahead and explain this to me. Your daughter divorced him, so how is he still part of your family? If you can’t give me a proper answer, I’ll wipe out your entire family along with him!”
Gabriel bared his lips into a cruel smile after he said those words.
He was Cain’s son. Thus, it was no surprise that mercy was never part of his nature. Still, it was precisely because of his lack of mercy that he cared even more about justifying his actions.
Killing was easy. What mattered was making it seem reasonable.
Hazel and the others had already felt faint moments ago. Now, all that remained was fear.
Gabriel meant every word he had said.
But she and Evan were already divorced. What connection did he still have with the Solberg family?
This was the end. Not only would Evan die, but even the entire Solberg family would also be dragged down with him.
Gabriel’s chilling killing intent thickened, closing in like an inescapable net.
They had nowhere to run.
Miraculously, Stefan somehow found the courage to meet Gabriel head-on.

“That’s right! My daughter did officially divorce Evan, but he is still my adopted son! They may have gotten a divorce, but that doesn’t mean we’re kicking him out of the Solberg family! He is still Evan Solberg even after the divorce!”
His voice rang out, firm and powerful, shaking everyone to the core.
It was as if thunder had exploded over their heads.
The Norwoods froze. The three heiresses were stunned. Even Gabriel’s expression shifted. Everyone found it unbelievable.
It sounded as if he was making things up, but the more they thought about it, the more it made sense. Evan’s divorce from Hazel only ended their marriage. It didn’t mean he had left the Solberg family.
He was still their adopted son. He was still one of the Solbergs.
So, there was nothing wrong with Stefan protecting him.
Instead, Gabriel making a move now was out of line.
