This was nothing like when he had divorced Hazel. That had only severed his ties with her alone. But now, he had completely cut off all connections with Hazel, Roxanne, and Anya.

Three years of entanglement ended by his own hand at last.

That was why he had laughed so wildly.

It was because it was truly over. From this moment on, the three heiresses would never command him again, nor would they have anything to do with him.

The Leighton family, however, was completely dumbfounded.

‘Has he gone mad? Not only has he handed over two priceless life-saving drugs, but he’s laughing as if he just gained the world!

But no one could really be blamed for not understanding. No one could possibly comprehend what he was feeling at that moment. Still, Evan did not need anyone to understand. It was enough that he knew.

“From now on, I have nothing to do with the Leighton family. I don’t owe you anything anymore, and you don’t need to vent your anger on Roxanne. I’m leaving.”

At that, Evan strode out of the Leighton Estate.

He had arrived with authority, and he left the same way, leaving behind only the image of a tall, unrestrained figure.

Even after he had been gone for quite some time, the Leighton family remained frozen in shock, but how could they not?

Thaddeus, Wendy, and the others were all still stunned, as if everything that had just happened were a dream.

There had once been a time when they would have given anything to regain the life-saving drug because it represented limitless possibilities-their rise or fall was tied directly to it.

Three years ago, when it had been stolen, it felt as if the sky had collapsed. Yet now, three years later, it had

returned…

And not just one-there were two.

And of even higher quality.

It was all too unbelievable.

But what shocked them even more than the return of the life-saving drugs was the person who had brought them back-Evan Norwood. The very man they had cursed for three years. The man every Leighton had once wished they could tear apart with their own hands.

Most baffling of all was how he had even obtained them.

“No, I should’ve stopped him and asked where he got the drug!” Thaddeus suddenly slapped his forehead, realization dawning far too late. “I reacted too slowly!”

“Grandpa, since Evan brought the life-saving drugs, he must be behind them…” Wendy said, voicing her speculation.

At once, Sadie and the others exchanged looks, their expressions shifting with clear disbelief.

Just because he had brought them didn’t mean he had refined them. The conditions required to produce a life- saving drug were extremely harsh.

Not only was it a high-tier medicinal pill, but the ingredients involved were numerous and complex. Even renowned medical masters in Imperia might fail to produce one, let alone anyone within Silverton.

Thaddeus was certain-there was no one in Silverton capable of refining a life-saving drug.

Wendy’s expression flickered before she continued, “I know you don’t believe it. Honestly, I don’t fully believe t either… but there’s no news of anyone selling life-saving drugs on the market. Every other possibility has been ruled out. The only one left is that Evan made them himself.”

There was no personal bias in her words-only pure reasoning.

Just as Evan had said, he had returned the life-saving drugs, and with that, the grievances between him and the Leighton family were settled. There was no longer any reason for them to hate him.

And yet, for some reason, everyone-including Wendy-felt an indescribable unease. It was as if this wasn’t the end. As if something else was still coming.

Suddenly, a thought flashed through Wendy’s mind, and her expression changed dramatically. “That… That can’t be…”

The thought was so shocking that her lips parted slightly, and she froze where she stood.

“What is it, Wendy?” Sadie asked in confusion.
