Chapter 266 Pricey Drug
Hereward brought up prices to make things clearer for everyone. The Leightons gasped. This was unbelievable.
150 million for a single ingredient was madness.
There were at least a dozen ingredients involved in the making of the life-saving drug.
“Sir,
you can buy a remote city with just the money that went into making these drugs.”
The Leightons fainted one after another. Their minds were blown. Thaddeus even spewed a jet of blood. Wendy, Sadie, and the ladies stood frozen; their souls had drifted elsewhere. That was something they didn’t see coming.
It was even more earth-shattering than they’d imagined. The drugs that were worth a remote city were sitting primly in the palm of Evan. The Leightons were too scared to even touch those drugs. This wasn’t something within their realm of understanding.
They were flummoxed, dazed, and perplexed.
However, Evan merely smiled. “Finally, someone who knows his stuff.”
Hereward had spoken the truth. Ivana could’ve gotten regular ingredients immediately, but Evan wanted the best of the best. Regular life-saving drugs could only tether the dying to life, and barely so. His life-saving drug could revive the dead.
Hereward knew that as well, and he made sure to make that point clear.
“Dear God!”
More and more of the Leighton family’s members crumpled to the ground. The shock was too much for them. They had no strength to even stand. They were lying on the ground like maggots, breathing heavily.
Wendy blacked out several times, only to get jolted awake. That happened in mere seconds. Her mind was losing it.
In the end, the Leightons looked at Evan with horror. The shock had numbed them. “H-H-How’d you get these drugs, Evan?”
Something that could revive the dead was beyond anything money could buy. It was priceless, yet a broke, beaten man brought it to them. It was… odd.
Evan didn’t answer. He tossed the drugs to Thaddeus, explaining, “I’ve given back the drug I used three years ago, and I threw an extra one in for good measure. Now, I’ve repaid my debt to Roxanne. She’s repaid her debt to you. That’s a chapter done.”
His voice echoed across the hall, crashing into the Leightons’ members’ hearts.
“Now, sign the debt settlement letter. It states that I have no more ties with Roxanne or the Leightons from this moment onward.” Evan took out two copies of the letters. He’d written this a long while ago.
The Leightons were stunned. Evan was serious. He’d given them two priceless drugs and asked for nothing in
return.
Thaddeus signed the letters, still confused and in a daze. His family was no better. This almost felt like a dream. They wondered if this was reality.
But then Evan looked at the signed letters, and he laughed.
