Chapter 274 Family, Shattered Beyond Repair.

“And did you ever think about it? There might be people in this world who need the energy drug more than you. You can’t be so selfish!” Hazel still tried to phrase it as tactfully as she could.

Stefan and Cynthia burst out laughing upon hearing that.

‘A daughter actually said something like that to her own parents? We gave birth to you. We raised you. And now, in your eyes, we’re not even worthy of taking the energy drug? What a joke. And the medicine is ours-not something you obtained yourself. Talking about how someone else needs it more… Who is that someone else you’re talking about? Isn’t it Zeke? Do you think we can’t tell?’

“Get out!” Stefan slapped her across the face in fury. “I didn’t raise you to turn out like this! Now get out of my sight!”

He was heartbroken. To think that, in her eyes, her own parents weren’t even as important as an outsider. If Cynthia hadn’t held him back, Stefan might have beaten Hazel to death on the spot.

Even Cynthia looked at Hazel with nothing but disappointment, no longer stepping in to stop him.

Why had they deliberately brought up the energy drug earlier? Because they already knew how Hazel would react. They had provoked her on purpose-just to see what choice she would make when faced with that temptation.

They had still held onto a sliver of hope, thinking she had only been led astray for a moment, that she could still be pulled back.

But in the end, all she gave them was disappointment.

“I didn’t… Dad, that’s not what I meant… I just… I-ugh, I can’t explain it clearly!” Hazel panicked.

The more she tried to explain, the worse it sounded. In the end, she gave up and spoke bluntly, “Just tell me where the energy drug came from! Or tell me who gave it to you I’ll go find them myself!”

Stefan shot her a cold glare. “No idea.”

Cynthia echoed icily, “No idea.”

Hazel stood there, completely stunned. Not only had she failed to learn anything about the energy drug, but she had also created a rift between herself and her parents.

Only then did it hit her-this was the first time she had ever spoken to them with such rudeness. And they were her parents…

She hesitated, wanting to say something more.

“Get out! Leave this house right now, and don’t ever come back!”

In the end, Hazel was forcibly driven out.

Watching their daughter leave, Stefan and Cynthia suddenly seemed to lose all their strength and collapsed onto

the sofa.

The deepest wounds never came from shouting or anger. They came from betrayal at the level of the soul. And the closer the bond, the sharper the pain.

Only now did they truly understand how Evan must have felt back then.

Watching Hazel, Roxanne, and Anya throw everything away for Zeke-how much must that have hurt? If they had

done it for someone extraordinary, maybe it would have been one thing. But to abandon someone truly exceptional for a useless, sickly man?

The contrast between Evan’s brilliance and their daughter’s blindness only made Stefan angrier the more he thought about it. A suffocating pressure built in his chest, twisting his expression into something almost feral.

If Evan drifted farther and farther away from them, then so be it, but there was one thing they would never allow -their daughter ending up with Zekë.

Over their dead bodies.

Cynthia felt exactly the same.

Hazel returned to Villa No. 9 at Nine Courts in a daze, her mind still fixated on the energy drug her parents had taken. She couldn’t let it go.

It hurt too much.

If her parents hadn’t taken it, she could have given it to Zeke. His illness would have been cured. It felt as though she had just lost an enormous fortune.

“What’s wrong, Hazel? Still upset over the divorce?” Anya asked when she noticed her expression.

Roxanne had just returned from the Leighton Estate as well.
