Chapter 300 Ripples Across Silverton
Estelle snapped back immediately. She knew Sylvie far too well.
“That scheming woman… She’s seriously ticking me off…”
Furious, Estelle dialed Evan’s number without hesitation.
“Evan, what’s going on? Are you really seeing that old hag? ‘One home, two people, three meals, four seasons’-seriously?” Even though she was upset, there was a trace of nervousness in her voice when she questioned him, afraid it might actually be true.
“What are you talking about?” Evan sounded completely confused.
Before he could say more, Sylvie cut in. “Evan said he’s going to protect me. Am I not allowed to show it
off a little?”
“Oh, that?” He thought they were referring to that matter and smiled. “Yeah, it’s going to get a little dangerous in Silverton lately. Estelle, you should be careful, too.”
“So, that’s what it is.” Estelle let out a breath, her tone shifting instantly. “I knew it-you were just stirring things up again, you old hag. And now Evan’s even telling me to be careful, you-”
Estelle hadn’t finished speaking when Sylvie, quick as ever, hung up the call.
Evan found it a little strange but didn’t press further. If the Black Sun might target Sylvie, then Estelle could also be at risk… Anyone connected to him could become their target.
With that thought, he made another call to Sean, asking him to keep Estelle at college for the time being and not let her wander around. He also told him to inform the Director of Security to increase citywide vigilance.
Sean froze when he heard that. Then a thought struck him. “Is Gabriel Solomon making a move against you?”
After all, the only person who could throw Silverton into chaos was Gabriel, but Evan denied it outright.” No. He doesn’t have that kind of ability.”
Even if Cain himself showed up, it wouldn’t matter.
At once, Sean realized this was no longer something he should be asking about. Without another word, he ended the call.
After hanging up, Evan stood by the window, looking out into the night. The Black Sun was like a monstrous beast lurking in the fog. Until it revealed itself, no one could truly grasp how terrifying it was.
“Hazel, what are you all looking at?”

Over at Villa No. 9, Zeke noticed Hazel, Roxanne, and Anya gathered together, whispering about something, and couldn’t help asking.
“Zeke, the group chat is going crazy!” Hazel said, handing him her phone. “Some big shot just made their relationship public!”
It was Sylvie’s social media post-though it had been reposted by a Silverton socialite, not directly from Sylvie herself.
“She looks kind of like one of the women staying at Villa No. 1!” Roxanne exclaimed.
Unfortunately, when zoomed in, the image was blurry. Her face and the caption weren’t fully clear, only vaguely similar.
“No way… Could it really be her?” Anya’s expression changed instantly as she followed that line of thought. “But if that’s true, then the one cooking in the background must be the owner of Villa No. 1…”
The three of them froze.
Zeke, however, looked thoroughly disgusted as he handed the phone back, his expression darkening.’ These three… are wasting time gossiping all day. Can that cure my condition? Can it restore my body? Useless. Relying on them is a dead end.”
He slammed the door shut in anger, then took out a laptop. His fingers moved rapidly across the keyboard, streams of complex, cryptic code reflecting in his eyes.
