Chapter 32 The Queen of Finance

I know Ivana? Is she some kind of celebrity?

Just then, another woman sat quietly in the hospital ward alongside the sleeping Stanton and Sylvie’s uncle, William. She looked to be around 30, exuding a poised yet confident aura.

Her formfitting dress hugged her body, outlining and flaunting her curvaceous silhouette.

There was no denying that she practically oozed feminine sharm. One could almost fall in love with her with just one look at her.

William leaned in and whispered something into her ear.

Her expression changed instantly as her brows shot up. Is that really true?

It’s true, Ivana,William said. He just got lucky saving Dad. But now Dad’s insisting he’s some kind of lucky charm for the family and even wants to marry Sylvie off to him. You have to step in. Otherwise, a Stanton heiress is going to be ruined by a con artist.

A flash of cold malice passed through William’s eyes as he spoke.

Evan saving Stanton had shaken more than a few vested interests, and William was one of the people whose stakes had been threatened.

He had been doing everything he could to block the marriage between Sylvie and Evan.

You have your own agenda too, don’t you, Will?the woman said suddenly, her tone cool and sharp.

Huh?William broke out in a cold sweat. II wouldn’t dare. I just don’t want Dad and Sylvie to be deceived.

Hmph. I know exactly what’s going on,she said, her expression cold. I won’t let him get away with his schemes if he really is

a fraud who has bluffed his way through. However, we won’t mistreat him if he truly has the talent to back up his skills.

He might even be the one to break the curse that has plagued us for over a decade.

Her words stunned William to silence.

What? Him?William blurted. He’s a fraud! How could he break the curse? Even the true experts in geomancy and metaphysics were helpless. Face it! All hope is lost!

Evan and Sylvie showed up before the argument could continue.

Evan’s eyes immediately fell upon the woman once he entered the room. His attention was caught not due to her striking presence, but because he actually recognized her.

Ivana Stanton. She was the Queen of Finance. One could even say that she was a nearlegendary figure in the financial world. Even the richest man in an entire country couldn’t get her to agree to a dinner invitation.

It wasn’t just that. She also happened to be Hazel’s ultimate role model, the person Hazel aspired to become more than anyone else.

Yet, she was Sylvie’s aunt? The Stanton family truly was a family filled with extraordinary people.

See what I mean, Ivana?William whispered again. I told you, didn’t I? This kid is nothing but a fraud. He couldn’t stop staring at you the second he walked in.

Ivana said nothing, but she couldn’t help but frown in displeasure when she noticed Evan standing there and staring at her unblinkingly

Just then, Stanton woke up and smiled at him warmly. Evan, you’re here? Come, let me introduce you. This is my daughter, Ivana. She’s also Sylvie’s aunt.

Ivana elegantly rose to her feet, approached him, and sized him up. So, you’re Evan? You’ve got the face for the part, I’ll give you that but looks alone won’t cut it. You need to bring something real to the table.

She was putting him on nosice that conning his way through wouldn’t work forever He might have gotten lucky once, but luck would eventually run out.
