Chapter 86 More Ancient Formulas
As if the calls were not enough, she made sure she texted him. Evan headed out early, thinking it was something important.
While he was on the way, Evan received a transfer of 270 million. He frowned, wondering where it came from until his phone
rang.
It was Artemisia.
“Have you gotten the money, Mr. Norwood? That’s for the ancient formula. We’re putting it to practical use. You get half of all
revenue.”
That answered the question of the money’s source. He thought, ‘Making money really is easy.’
To some people, lives could be measured with money, and so did debts of gratitude. He was reminded of Anya’s spiel, and Evan sneered. ‘She thinks 150 million is priceless. I just made nearly double that without doing anything.’
Evan said, “You don’t have to. It’s just a simple restoration.”
Though it was the truth, Artemisia couldn’t help the tremble in her hands. That meant Evan could restore even more difficult ancient formulas. She replied, “I must! You did the restoration. The paper would’ve been useless without your skills.”
Evari did not argue any further, though the Stones had just left a better impression on him. Not many souls out there were as honest as them. Most people wouldn’t even split the revenue with him. They’d make sure they took 100% of the profit.
Evan arrived at the resort. “I wonder what’s so important.”
To his surprise, he ran into the ladies in the room. The ladies, knowing what Anya was planning, had nothing but cold indifference for Evan.
“Evan, you made it! Have a seat!” Graham was all smiles, his mood buoyed by what would happen next. “You’ll bear witness to history, where I shall be triumphant over Mr. Wells!”
Anya lifted her chin arrogantly. “And I’m sending you a reminder,” she said sharply. “You owe us a lifetime of debt.” Just in case Evan missed the point, she added loudly, “You promised to repay us and make Mr. Wells let my father slap him willingly! We don’t need you anymore. Dad can handle it himself!”
She continued, “Don’t try to deny it! We remember everything you said! You’re not staying out of Zeke’s trouble!”
That was something the ladies added at the last minute. Once they taught Evan that he owed them a lifetime’s debt, they’d have an excuse to extract his blood for Zeke.
Artemisia’s ancient formula couldn’t cure Zeke completely. He needed blood transfusions.
Evan listened silently, his gaze darkening like an approaching storm. He looked at Anya. “This is what you call the most important thing your family has ever seen? This event could’ve started without me!”
He was furious. Evan thought this was crucial, but it was a waste of his time.
Everyone in the room froze, and then fury crept onto their faces.
Graham snapped, “Of course it’s important! This event marks the moment my family breaks free of Mr. Wells’ oppression! And you’re brushing it aside? I took those slaps for you!”
Anya added, “My family now has Ms. Stanton’s attention, Evan. Bet you didn’t know that! She’s the Queen of Finance! She called us herself just to say thanks!” She was practically foaming at the mouth with pride.
Evan nearly rolled his eyes.

He was wondering why the Goldens acted like they owned the place, and it was all because of Ivana’s phone call. She only called them thanks to him, and now they thought they had the power to make a comeback.
