Chapter 93 The Fall of the Monk Duo
That’s right. What they were feeling was pure, unadulterated fear.
The Monk Duo, who had spent their entire lives making others tremble, were showing that very emotion themselves. No one
had ever imagined they would look like this one day.
“M-Mr. Wells… Is the Monk Duo going to lose?” One of the men swallowed hard and forced the words out, his voice shaking.
“Bullshit! That’s impossible!” Hugo snapped grimly. “They’ve slaughtered countless people under my orders! Have they ever lost?”
“But-” the man began.
However, Hugo shot him a look that shut him up instantly. It was an odd look on him. He didn’t look like he was angry. If anything, he looked panicked… and frightened.
The terror on the Monk Duo’s faces only deepened.
They had merely fallen into deviation, so they still retained a trace of their humanity. Thus, they still felt fear, just like anyone else, when their opponent was far superior to them.
‘Boom! Boom! Boom!’
The fight didn’t last long. A victor was decided almost instantaneously.
‘Bang! Bang!’
It sounded as if lightning had struck twice. A heartbeat later, they saw two bodies shooting across the sky as though they were cannonballs fired out of a cannon. When the dust finally lifted, everyone clearly saw who had been thrown-the Monk Duo.
Not only had they been blasted away, but both their chests were also caved in. It was obvious that their ribs were all shattered. The sight of their demise was downright gruesome.
Everyone was plunged into a heavy, suffocating silence. Hugo stood frozen like a statue, unable to move. His men trembled violently, swallowing hard, their faces drained of blood.
None of them could accept what they were seeing. In their minds, Evan was at best a skilled fighter. He was definitely nowhere near a Master-stage fighter. Therefore, the Monk Duo should’ve easily dealt with him.
Alas, the Monk Duo had died here instead.
“Wells…”
Evan’s voice snapped everyone back to reality. Hugo jolted violently, cold sweat pouring down his back as his whole body started shaking uncontrollably.
He dropped to his knees with a thud.
Everyone turned toward the sound and saw Evan slowly walking toward them after calling Hugo’s name.
“M-Mr. Wells… Oh God, he’s coming our way!”
“Ah!”
“Ah!”
The rest dropped to their knees when they saw Hugo fall to his. They couldn’t process what was happening. However, they were aware enough to know that their knees had simply crumpled of their own volition…
After all, what chance did they have against a man who’d crushed the Monk Duo like a gnat?

“Sir… Great One… I-I’ve realized my mistake! Please forgive me!”
‘Bang! Bang! Bang!’
Hugo sprawled against the ground in supplication, his eyes turning dazed at the rate he was going. Evan only signaled for him to stop after seeing that Hugo was seconds away from fainting.
Evan looked down at him. “Mr. Wells, how do you think we should settle this?”
“I know the rules of the underworld, Mr. Norwood!” Hugo promptly answered. Then, he whipped out a knife and hacked off one of his fingers.
