Spoiled By My Nine Beast Husbands (Emma Tibarn) novel Chapter 494

**When She Opened the Door to the Life She Was Afraid to Live by Nora Vale Kingsley 494**

**Chapter 494: Stella’s Concern**

“Alaric, are you really going to chase after Emma?” Stella asked, her voice laced with a mixture of curiosity and concern.

Alaric’s expression turned serious as he nodded, his eyes reflecting a deep determination. “Yes. I let my chance slip away once, and I refuse to let that happen again.”

His thoughts drifted back to the early days when he had distanced himself from Emma, all due to the pressing matters of his clan.

He had been so consumed by his responsibilities that he hadn’t even recognized the depth of his feelings for her. Back then, he had merely chalked it up to Emma being a refreshing change from the women he had encountered in his past.

But as he returned home time and again, her image lingered in his mind, refusing to fade.

It was at Amara’s birthday banquet, amidst the laughter and joy, that he felt a rush of genuine happiness upon seeing her. That surge of emotion had been a revelation; he realized he had missed her presence in his life, and he yearned to be by her side.

He had made plans to seek her out after the festivities, but fate had other ideas.

Malrik, that unpredictable troublemaker, had decided to make his life difficult.

At that moment, he had been accompanied by two elders from Starhaven, which prevented him from retaliating when Malrik had launched his attack. Alaric understood the importance of maintaining his facade; revealing his true strength could jeopardize his position as heir.

So, he had allowed himself to be injured, using it as a cover to stay on Central Planet.

Yet, the irony was that he couldn’t even visit Emma, his face marred by injuries. All he could do was shadow her from a distance, like a lost puppy, whenever she ventured outside.

Unfortunately, Emma rarely left the estate, and when she did, it was often to search for Silas, the father of her child.

Alaric had followed her quietly, always keeping his distance, never daring to approach too closely.

He had remained on the sidelines until that fateful day with Drake.

The memory of the panic that gripped him when he witnessed Emma and an unconscious Drake being engulfed by an avalanche was still vivid in his mind. He had acted swiftly, rescuing both of them and healing Emma, but he couldn’t reveal himself, not while his face was still healing.

He had no choice but to wait for Drake to regain consciousness.

“Alaric, Emma’s mates don’t seem particularly welcoming, especially towards you,” Stella remarked, observing as Alaric absentmindedly arranged his medical supplies. “Do you think they’ll even consider allowing you to be one of her mates?”

Alaric understood the complexities of the situation. He wasn’t Emma’s match in the traditional sense, meaning he would need the approval of her mates to pursue a relationship with her.

Stella’s instincts told her that Lucien and Marcus would be formidable obstacles in Alaric’s quest for Emma’s heart.

As if that weren’t enough, Emma also had Calum and Silas as her mates.

Alaric felt a wave of anxiety wash over him as he considered his chances.

“It’s going to be a challenge,” he conceded, but after a moment’s thought, he added with renewed confidence, “But I believe she’ll want me to stay.”

He had already earned Corvin’s trust and had a good sense of where Edric stood on the matter.

Edric would not oppose his intentions as long as he treated Emma with respect and care.
