“Help me, Mommy!” Remy wailed, kicking his little chubby legs wildly against the bed. His cries were heart–wrenching, tears streaming down like broken beads, and his little face flushed bright red in an instant.

Silas was flabbergasted. “Stop crying.”

Worried that Remy’s cries might wake or upset Emma, Silas hurried over to calm him. But Remy rolled on the bed, stubbornly keeping Silas from touching him.

Silas gritted his teeth and was about to bind him with vines when the bedroom door suddenly burst open under a forceful shove from outside.

“What’s going on? Who’s bullying little Remy?” Corvin rushed in. Seeing Remy crying so pitifully on the bed, he immediately ran over to comfort him.

“Don’t cry, Remy. Daddy Corvin is here.”

“Daddy Corvin…” Remy rolled right into Corvin’s arms, hiccupping through his cries, his little voice full of grievance.

“I wanted to sleep with Mother, but Daddy won’t let me! He even tried to spank me!” Hearing the commotion, Lucien, Calum, and Edric all stepped inside and looked at Silas.

“I haven’t hit him yet,” Silas tried to explain.

“Are you saying that you were going to?” Lucien frowned disapprovingly at Silas.

“Remy just awakened his human form. It’s completely normal for him to feel attached to his mother. Emma wouldn’t refuse him either, so why aren’t you allowing it?”

Corvin looked down at the little guy in his arms, hiccupping through his sobs. “Look at how sad you’ve made him, Silas! How could you even think about hitting him?” he chided.

What an adorable little cub. How could Silas bear to hurt him?

Calum stepped forward, gently taking Remy from Corvin’s arms. “Come on, Remy. Let’s go to your mother.”

Edric also voiced his disapproval. “Silas, you’ve messed up big time.”

Silas was speechless. He hadn’t even touched Remy! Thinking that Emma was tired, he didn’t want Remy disturbing her rest.

While half–asleep, Emma vaguely heard Remy’s piercing cries.

“Remy?” She opened her eyes, threw back the covers, and had just sat up on the bed when someone entered the bedroom.

Calum’s tall figure appeared in the doorway with Remy, who was still sniffling and had tears in his eyes.

“Mommy…”

The moment Remy saw Emma, his little mouth puckered in relief, as if he had found the strongest support in the world. He stretched out his chubby little arms, reaching for her to hold him.

“What’s going on? Why are you crying like this?” Emma’s heart ached. She hurried over, taking Remy from Calum’s arms and holding him tightly to her chest.

The little guy’s body was still trembling slightly. He buried his face into Emma’s warm embrace, rubbing his tiny nose against her pajamas, letting out sniffling little sounds as he wailed in his baby voice.

“Daddy’s so mean! Daddy won’t let Remy sleep with you… And he even said he’d spank me…”

With each sentence came another pitiful hiccup, his little face so innocent and heartbroken it made Emma’s chest ache.

Silas actually thought about hitting him over this?

Emma looked at the crying little Remy in her arms, completely heartbroken.

Just then, the culprit walked in as well. Emma held the pitiful bundle in her arms and looked at Silas. “What’s going on?” she asked.

Silas looked at their son, who was still whining in Emma’s arms, and stepped forward, trying to explain. “Emma, you’re exhausted from today, and I only want you to get some proper rest. I didn’t hit him! Well, maybe I did scare him a little,” he said.

So it was true. Silas had really frightened Remy into crying.

Emma knew Silas meant well, but she didn’t agree with his approach. She said firmly, “Silas, Remy just awakened his human form today. It’s normal for him to cling to me right now and to want to sleep beside me. I don’t think you should deny him that.”

“Besides, I don’t think that having Remy by my side will keep me from resting,” she continued.

He was so well–behaved, and he wouldn’t disturb her at night. Even if he did, there was no harm in it. It wasn’t like she had to be with him every single night. One occasional night was nothing, and it would actually help mother and son bond. Emma thought it was a good thing.

“Yeah!” Remy nodded vigorously in her arms. “I won’t bother you, Mommy. I’ll be good and stay by your side.”

Seeing her little one so obedient made Emma even more protective.

She looked at Silas with disapproval, ignoring whatever he wanted to say, and stated firmly, “I’ll sleep with Remy tonight. All of you should head back to your rooms. That includes you, Silas.”

Silas tried to stop her little one from sleeping with her, only to be kicked out immediately. He stood there, utterly stunned.

“Emma, I…”

“You don’t need to explain. It’s decided,” Emma said, holding Remy as she lay down. “I’m going to sleep now. You all, get out.”

Silas was speechless.

He was used to being the one to play tricks on others, but today, he’d been outsmarted by his own child.
