Seeing that Emma was really not letting him stay, Silas had no choice but to turn and leave the
room.
Once everyone else had gone, Remy sat up instantly in Emma’s arms. He dug into his little coat pockets and pulled out the raw crystal he had brought back from the auction.
“Remy, you’re not sleeping. What are you doing with that stone?” Emma yawned and looked at the raw crystal in his hands, puzzled.
“Mother, I want to tell you a secret.” He had come to her tonight just to be alone with her. Even though his fathers had brought him here, he needed to drive them away.
“What secret?” Emma whispered.
Remy crawled up and leaned closer to her ear. In a voice only the two of them could hear, he whispered about how he had inherited Emma’s memories.
When he finished, he looked at her seriously, his tone careful. “Mommy, will you erase these inherited memories from me too? I haven’t told Daddy about this because it’s your secret.
“If you’re worried that these memories might affect me, you can erase them.”
There was a hint of sadness in his voice. No matter how many memories he had, he was still just a newly awakened cub.
Emma’s heart ached. She pulled him into her arms, holding him close and gently comforting him. “Don’t worry, I will never erase those memories.”
Though she had a rough childhood, she had her grandmother by her side, so her memories were mostly happy. Emma didn’t think there was anything wrong with them.
“I won’t tell Daddy about this too.” She reached out her hand to Remy. “This is our secret. We won’t tell anyone else about it, okay? Pinky promise.”
“Okay!” Remy nodded happily. He had his mother’s memories, so he knew how pinky swearing worked.
“Pinky swear. No backing out, even after a hundred years!”
A hundred years from now, Remy would have already grown up. By then, he could share the secrets if he wanted, or keep them if he didn’t. Emma wouldn’t interfere.

“Can I call you Mama instead?”
Having inherited his mother’s memories, calling her ‘Mama‘ felt nice.

“Of course,” Emma said, smiling. She liked it when Remy called her that. “You still haven’t told me what you’re doing with this raw crystal.”
He held it up for her to see. “Look at this, Mama. Don’t you think it looks like Earth?”
Emma nodded. “It really does.”
“I want to make you a very special gift.” While clutching the raw crystal, Remy ran to the corner of the bed.
“You should get some sleep now, Mama. When you wake up, the gift will be ready.”
Hearing this, Emma frowned. “You’re not planning to sleep tonight?”
Remy shook his head. “Vines can stay awake for days. I just woke up, so I’m not tired at all.”
This was exactly why Silas hadn’t let him come to sleep with her. Since the young one had just woken up, he was worried Remy wouldn’t settle down and would end up disturbing her sleep.
Emma, however, was genuinely tired.
She yawned and said to Remy, “Wake me up if you need me, alright? I’m going to bed now.”
With her memories, Remy behaved differently from a newly awakened little one. Emma felt at ease and didn’t interfere, soon closing her eyes.
Remy, careful not to disturb her rest, covered himself with his vines. Using his abilities, he carefully worked on the raw crystal in his hands, adding a few extra touches of his own.
The next day, Emma woke up and slowly opened her eyes. The first thing she saw was Remy’s peaceful, adorable sleeping face.
The little one had likely been busy all night, and he was sound asleep now. His long lashes cast tiny shadows over his pale skin, and his pink lips were slightly puckered. He was unbearably
cute.
Emma’s gaze softened instantly. She smiled and was about to get up when she suddenly felt something beside her pillow.

She turned her head and saw a delicate pendant lying quietly on the pillow.

The chain was a brilliant silver–white, as if woven from starlight, and from it hung a deep–blue planet.
Emma only glanced at the planet before her heart clenched sharply.
It was the exact shade of blue from her memories.
She carefully picked up the pendant, and familiar scenes instantly flashed before her eyes, making them sting with tears.
Lush green fields stretched ahead, winding paths led through them, and at the end of one path stood a small, familiar house.
It was the house where she had lived with her grandmother for over a decade, with its red bricks, blue tiles, and a neatly kept garden in front, tended by her grandmother.
At the doorway stood an elderly figure, her hair streaked with white, body thin and slightly hunched.
She wore the blue floral jacket Emma remembered so vividly. His face was lined with years of
