Emma called back to Edric outside the door, then turned to Drake. “You’re still too weak. Stay in bed and rest. I’ll have the guys bring you breakfast.”
Drake lay back down, his fingertips brushing lightly across the back of her hand. “After breakfast, you’re going with Corvin to his kind, aren’t you? Like this… I can’t go with you.”
“It’s fine,” she said. She had never planned on bringing him along anyway. “You focus on recovering. I’ll have Alaric stay behind and keep an eye on you.”
With Drake in this condition, she couldn’t leave him home alone without worrying.
“Well… when you come back, remember to check in,” he pleaded. Even if she only liked him a little, she couldn’t just dump him here and ignore him.
“Don’t worry. I’ll definitely come see you when I get back.” Emma promised. She knew he lacked a sense of security right now. She wasn’t about to leave him feeling abandoned.
After stepping out of Drake’s room, Emma first instructed someone to bring him breakfast.
Once she finished eating, she told Alaric to stay behind and look after Drake. Alaric had no objections.
“Perfect, I can take today to tidy the room a little.”
With so many people going with Emma to Ravaryn, him missing from the group hardly mattered.
“Emma, what color scheme do you think our room should have? I’ll go with whatever you like.”
“Something warm,” Emma answered.
“Good. I’ll pick out a few palettes first and send them to your lightcore. You can choose from there.”
“Alright. We’ll pick together.” Emma nodded with a smile.
Corvin and Edric were already packed and ready. After giving Alaric the last of her instructions, Emma boarded the airship bound for Ravaryn.
Her group this time included not just Corvin but also Kieran, Marcus, Malrik, and Edric. Silas hadn’t returned yet. Lucien and Calum had already gone back to work–Lucien, especially, had been off for quite some time and needed to return.
On the airship, Emma asked Corvin about his people–specifically, whether there was anything she needed to keep in mind.
“Emma, Ravaryns are very carefree,” Corvin said with a cheerful grin. “You don’t need to worry about anything. Just have fun. If I have to point out something, it’s this–ignore my single cousins. None of them is decent. If they bother you, just tell me, and I’ll have Marcus beat them up.”
Marcus, half–slumped on the couch like he had three minutes of life left, shot Corvin a look. “Why am I the one doing the hitting? Why don’t you go?”
Corvin flashed him an ingratiating smile. “They’re my cousins. It’d feel wrong if I hit them myself.”
“What, you can’t hit them, but somehow a visiting guest can?” Marcus asked flatly.

Corvin puffed up with confidence. “You don’t have to hit them. You can kill them with your words.”
Marcus flicked an ice orb straight at Corvin’s head. “Before I kill them, I can kill you first. Want to test that?”

“No, no, no!” Corvin clutched his head and surrendered immediately. “Marcus, you misunderstood–I meant your tongue is sharp.
not toxic.”
He would’ve been better off not explaining at all.
Marcus lobbed another ice orb at him. Corvin yelped and hid behind Kieran.
“Marcus, I already explained–why are you still throwing ice at me? Aren’t we buddies? And don’t forget, back when you didn’t know how to sweet–talk Emma, /was the one who asked Silas for advice for you!”
