Chapter 706 A Chase Beyond the Outer Region
They had originally planned to sneak Emma out first, then take her beyond the outer region and spend some time together so she could gradually warm up to them.
Jim had ruined everything.
That snake slipped away with Emma on its own.
Rage burned in Gaellard’s chest.
Losing the female had been bad enough. Kieran now chased him down while throwing punches without hesitation.
What a miserable turn of events.
“Enough nonsense.” Kieran trusted none of Gaellard’s explanations. “Everyone knows you are the clever one. This smells like a plan you cooked up with Jim. You hold me here while he escapes with Emma.”
His voice continued while his fists kept coming.
Gaellard had no interest in trading blows with Kieran.
Time mattered more than pride. Finding Jim and Emma came first.
“Why would I bother lying?”
His body twisted aside as Kieran’s strike cut through the air. The urge to curse every ancestor in his bloodline nearly burst out before he forced himself to stay calm.
“Fine. I admit it. I did ask Jim to help sneak Emma away.”
A bitter taste formed in his mouth.
“That shameless b*stard ran off with her alone the moment she was free. I am searching for him as well.”
Anger simmered under every word.
“Kieran, every punch you throw only wastes time. Come along if you doubt me. We can search for Emma together.”
Worry lingered that Kieran might still distrust him. Gaellard raised his hand and made an oath. “I swear to the Beast God that every word is true.”
The oath finally halted Kieran’s attacks.
The moment Kieran saw Gaellard standing alone, suspicion had already formed that Emma was not with him. The earlier strike had simply tested the truth.
Once the fighting stopped, Gaellard released a long breath and explained, “I chased Jim past the outer region. The moment we entered there, he vanished with Emma.”
The outer region stretched endlessly.
Someone determined to hide there could remain unseen even if the Beast God searched personally.

“Kieran, do you have any method to track him?” Gaellard observed him closely. “That quiet fellow hides a reckless side. Concern grows that Emma might get hurt after being taken like this.”
Kieran indeed had a way to find her, based on sensing the Merfolk pearl. Although the pull was subtle, it was there.
Finding Emma wouldn’t be the hardest part, but an even bigger problem came next. Jim would just steal her again as long as he was alive.
“Kieran, stop staring into space.” Gaellard leaned closer, curiosity sharpening his voice. “You and Emma share a bond already. Surely that connection gives you a way to find her.”
Memory surfaced.
A bonded Merfolk could entrust his Merfolk pearl to the female he chose. That pearl allowed him to sense her location anywhere.
Saellard watched Kieran’s cold expression carefully. They were already bonded, which meant the Merfolk pearl should be with Emma… shouldn’t it? If she has that pearl, there’s no way this fish could lose her trail.
His eyes narrowed slightly as he tested the idea. “Rumor claims Merfolk always hand their Merfolk pearl to their female after bonding.”
His tone remained casual. “You and Emma are already bonded. The pearl must be with her, correct?”
Kieran’s gaze swept over him like ice sliding across stone. “Wrong.”
No further attention followed.
He turned and walked away.
Gaellard refused to believe that answer. He thought, That stubborn fish worked his tail off just to get near Emma. There’s no way he keeps the Merfolk pearl after bonding with her, which suggests Kieran definitely knows Emma’s location.
‘Kieran, wait!”
Gaellard rushed after him and matched his pace without hesitation.
Kieran’s expression twisted with disgust. His steps accelerated.
Gaellard quickly arranged his face into an expression overflowing with guilt. “Kieran, slow down and listen. This entire disaster ests on my shoulders.”
His voice rose louder as he jogged beside him. “Total stupidity on my part. My brain must have turned into seawater. Asking that silent blockhead Jim to steal Emma counts as the worst decision of my life.”
A snort escaped him.
‘That fellow barely speaks half a sentence. No one would expect him to be such a sneaky traitor.”
As he continued speaking, his tone grew increasingly filled with injustice, with each word shifting the blame onto Jim.
Perhaps a hint of sympathy could emerge.
“Kieran, I know the urge to hit me must be strong. Punching me won’t help. Emma is the priority right now.”

“Let me join the search. Two hunters have a better chance of tracking than one. Together, we can handle Jim’s trouble more easily. Killing him might still be difficult, but it’s entirely possible to leave him bedridden for years.”
