"Scared? Of what... a selfie?"
"Bring it on, I'm not chicken!"
Emily wasn't one to back down from a challenge, and she scooted right over next to Sullivan.
Grinning from ear to ear, they threw up the peace sign, flashing their pearly whites... snap! They captured the moment in a photo.
Sullivan must have been bored out of his mind.
In front of doctors, nurses, and Emily, he tweeted out the picture with the caption—Meet my girl.
Emily shot him a thumbs up, her mischief obvious.
"Wait till your fans tear you apart! And Emmert... he'll have a go at you too! Your reputation's gonna tank, it'll mess with your current gig!
And Jeffrey, he'll be livid when he sees this! He's totally into me!
My mentor will have words for you... my mom too, and Aunt Gracie! Mom hates it when I show up on social media!"
But Sullivan just looked bored as he said, "If I dared to post it, I'm not afraid of the fallout."
Emily rolled her eyes and turned to the medical staff, "Should I step out while you apply the meds?"
Geez.
This kid might just be a little devil.
Smart as a whip...
Like a miniature adult.
The staff exchanged a silent look...
Kids could stay or leave; it was all up to Sullivan.
"Just stand outside the door for five minutes, then come back in," he instructed.
"Okay..."
Emily left without a fuss.
The doctor couldn't help but marvel, "Kids these days are just so sharp."
Sullivan chuckled, "Yeah, this little lady is wise beyond her years."
Unable to contain her curiosity, the nurse asked, "Sullivan... just who is this young lady to you?"
He replied simply, "She's someone I should protect, but can't..."
The doctor and the nurse were confused but didn't dare pry further.
