Emily found the switch, flipped it on, and stood by the bed, ready to give Sullivan a shave.
Sullivan cracked a smile, "Even Jeffrey hasn't had this kind of luxury, huh?"
"Nope, he hasn't! Feel honored?"
"Yeah, quite honored."
"Ha, just watch it—I might leave you with half a beard, then you'll look like a real mess."
"Nah, with these good looks, I can pull off anything."
"Please, get over yourself."
Once the shaving ordeal was over, Sullivan took a comb and started undoing Emily's pigtails, gently straightening out her hair.
Emily, trying to mimic his tone, asked, "First time playing hairdresser, huh?"
"How'd you guess?"
"Because you're hurting me."
"Sorry... I'll be gentler."
"It's okay, not too bad... It's not important. What's important is that it's your first time brushing a girl's hair."
"How important?"
"Just as important as the first time I shaved you."
First times, they're always meaningful.
In the future, every time I shave, I'll remember... this person was the first one to ever give me a shave, apart from myself.
Sullivan got the hint and chuckled, "You're quite the little devil, aren't you? There's no getting one over on you."
"I'm the one who can't get anything past you old-timers!"
"Copying me now?"
"No way, I've got my own lines."
"What kind of braid do you want?"
"As if I expect you to work any hairstyling miracles!"
"I might surprise you. You believe me?"
"Don't believe it till I see it!"
"Just you wait."
Sullivan grabbed his phone and googled a few tutorials, smartly picking it up after watching a few times.
