With another subdued "Hmm," Sebastian went back to his mountain of paperwork.

In the finance office on the eighteenth floor, the gossip mill had started churning the moment the future First Lady of Skyline Corporation walked in. The staff whispered and speculated amongst themselves, unable to contain their curiosity.

Before long, Martin himself came down with an armful of goodies. In his hands were bags of snacks and bottles of freshly squeezed juice. The office was abuzz with envy. They felt like they were being shown up in broad daylight, their boss pampering his darling wife with luxury cars and jewelry on Twitter for all to see. And now, without even meeting with him, she had a personal delivery from Martin to help pass the time. It was a rough day to be single—or even taken—in that office.

In Director Bishop's office, Marilyn was enjoying a shoulder massage from her daughter when Martin knocked and entered.

“Director Bishop, Ms. Bishop... The boss asked me to bring some snacks and juice for Ms. Bishop, to help pass the time,” he announced.

Stephanie laughed, “Mom, does news always travel this fast around here? I’ve barely arrived, and Silver Fox already knows?”

Marilyn shot her a look, “Technically, you should've seen Seb first before keeping me company.”

Martin chuckled, “It’s all good. The boss is tied up with work, probably doesn’t have time to accompany Ms. Bishop... And since the workload's light right now, Director Bishop has the perfect opportunity to spend time with Ms. Bishop... Even taking a day off for shopping wouldn’t hurt.”

“No, that’s alright... I don’t need anything, and I’d rather stay at work. Just in case there’s an emergency, someone should be here, you know, just to be safe.”

“Director Bishop is always so dedicated... By the way, Ms. Bishop, the boss wanted to know if you’d like to join him for lunch?”
