Marilyn raised her eyebrows in surprise, "Really? Granny Wendy has been a fixture in our community for as long as I can remember."
"Absolutely! And Sullivan, everyone used to speculate that he was some bankrupt aristocrat’s golden boy, with his good looks and fine manners. Who would've guessed he started out as a street urchin!"
"It's a crazy world."
Marilyn chuckled, "Sounds like he, just like us, ran into a stroke of luck... Life's so unpredictable; you meet the right people, and your destiny can change just like that."
"Yeah, I believe that too! But Emily, she's so taken with Sullivan now, she won't even hang out with me anymore. She wants to stay by his side... When they're together, they're like a couple of kids... I just saw them bantering on Twitter like a pair of jesters."
"From what you're saying, Sullivan seems like a pretty straightforward guy?"
"Who knows? But Mom, don't be so suspicious. Sullivan's a decent guy... He taught me acting without holding back a thing. He's like a mentor to me."
"Alright then, if Seb is fine with it, I'll let it be. But remember, just because Seb dotes on you doesn't mean you can get cocky. You've got to show gratitude."
"I know, Mom..."
"Does Seb know you’re here?"
"Hehe, I haven’t told Silver Fox yet... I just wanted to spend the day with you at work. Silver Fox seems swamped; he was buried in paperwork until late last night. I didn’t want to bother him. I’ll cook him something delicious when I get home."
"Alright, your marriage isn’t my place to meddle. Just as long as you’re aware."
"Don't worry, Mom, I'm on top of it!"
"That's my girl."
"Are you busy, Mom?"
