Damon knew he had entered a memory world, but he did not let his attention falter. This was not a place to get lost. Not now. Not when everything was aligning.
He stood at the very edge of something monumental, something that would define not just his strength, but his entire existence going forward. Every instinct in his body screamed at him to stay focused, to not get distracted by anything else. Because this was the cusp.
The most important moment of his life. The Dao of Blood unfolded before him once again, no longer chaotic, no longer fragmented. It flowed like an endless river, vast and boundless, carrying with it the essence of countless lives and countless endings.
He didn’t try to grasp it in its entirety. That would be madness. He was only trying to grasp a small part of it, but it was still too vast. The moment he reached for even a fragment of it, his consciousness trembled.
Damon’s brows furrowed. "So even this much is too much, huh?" It did not matter. He was not going to let this chance slip by. He continued persisting when suddenly he felt something near him.
Damon became alert. He quickly summoned his blood avatar. There was nothing concerning. He let his blood avatar deal with it as he shifted his focus back to the great dao.
Not that it was helping very much. His mind was wandering constantly, and he simply felt inadequate every time he tried to grasp something. He let out a sigh and tried to focus again.
On the side, the blood avatar was slaughtering a bunch of beasts. Damon did not pay much attention to it in the beginning, but after a while, something strange happened. His blood avatar for the first time called for him. Moreover, he also couldn’t give any explanation.
Damon frowned and stood up, also looking at the world around him. He was in the middle of a cave, which was convenient. "I need to finish this quickly and get back." Every second he wasted was a setback that could cost him heavily. He teleported to his blood avatar in the blink of an eye.
"What happened?" Damon opened his mouth when his eyes went wide. In front of him was a pile of corpses, his blood avatar had slaughtered. Most of them were C rank, and some were B rank. Some even capable of giving heart attacks to most people back on earth.
But this was not the shocking part. He had long since surpassed these kinds of beasts, and dealing with them was no big deal. Damon’s eyes were instead focused on the big crystal sitting in a corner of the cave.
At first glimpse, it did not look like a treasure, but there was something odd about it. Damon immediately reached forward to grab it. The moment he touched it, an instant wave of clarity assaulted his mind.
