Jax POV:

“Alpha Edward, thank you for your help along with that of your warriors, we really do appreciate it” I say graciously to the visiting Alpha after thanking all of the warriors from the packs that had come to our aid.

“It was the right thing to do” he says seriously, “you will have our support in the future as well.”

“Thank you Alpha” Nova says before he signals for the warriors to move out and he quickly follows

suit.

Having already said goodbye to Alpha Marcus, Alpha Brad and Conor it meant only my Uncle Henry was left.

“Jax lad” he says as he claps a hand on my shoulder. “What an eventful few days huh.”

“Could say that again” I laugh.

Studying me for a moment he offers me his hand to shake, “in our times of need we can always rely on one another. You’re grown son, and I don’t mean physically. Your aura is powerful, much more powerful.”

“It’s this bond” I explain.

“A bond of true power..I know” he says. “A bond hasn’t been blessed by the Moon Goddess in this

manner for at least 500 years, it’s truly remarkable.”

“Really?” Nova gasps.

“Really” Henry smiles turning his attention to her. “You my dear, were a magnificent sight to behold.

You made your father proud.”

“Thank you” she says resting a hand over her heart.

“I’m going to take David with me, he’s not going to run off this time and he is going to see Axel and

Evan for how truly talented those boys are. They are my rightful successors, I’ve never thought of

anyone else more suitable” he says proudly.

“They are brilliant” I agree. “Keep me updated on my father, I haven’t yet spoken to him. I’m not sure what to say.”

“You need time Jax and that is fine, one right decision over quite a few wrong ones is not something you get over in one night. I’ll keep you updated” Henry assures us both before he waves

and steps into his car.

“Who is left?” Novas asks wearily, feeling a little tired still from the amount of energy she used in the fight.

“Your old pack, but they aren’t leaving till tomorrow when Mila goes to the council. Also the rogue pack, but I’ve said they can stay as Sophie is helping them for now” I explain quietly.

“Can we go find Luca and Sophie?” Nova asks as we realise Mila and Axton disappeared at some

point.

“Of course” I reply with a smile as I take her hand and lead her towards the forest line. Scenting them already heading this way we pause and wait till their figures step out from the cover of the trees and immediately focus on us.

“Sophie” Nova calls as she takes in her sister’s puffy eyes. “Are you ok?”

“I am” she says with a little sniffle, “I know it will take some getting used to, dad being gone, but he always taught me to believe in the moon goddess. He died to protect us and to help our future, of

that I’m certain.”

“He did” Nova agrees as they hold one another tightly. “We can make him proud Sophie. You must remember he loved us dearly, you especially kept him going when times were tough. Keep your head high, for him.”

“I will” Sophie promises as Luca looks at his mate proudly.

“How is the pack?” I ask her quietly.

“Suffering the loss of a great leader, but prepared to keep working hard in his memory” she says making me relax slightly. “I’m proud of them all.”

“As am i” Nova says.

“There you guys are” I hear Alex exclaim making us whirl round to see him with Elder Martin. “It’s time for that meeting” is all he says before turning and briskly walking away leaving us no room to

object. Seeing elder Martin look at me expressionlessly for a moment I furrow my brows before

shaking it off as we all follow after then quietly.

Walking in I see Ophelia sat there already along with Axton and Laurence.

“Luna it’s brilliant news about your wolf” Nova says softly sitting beside her. The smile that spreads

across Ophelia’s face says it all.

“I’m over the moon” she whispers as Alex kisses her forehead lovingly.

“What’s this about?” I link Laurence as he looks at me and simply shrugs.

“Beats me boss” is all he says as Alex takes a seat and leans forward gathering everyone’s
