After what felt like forever, he finally slowed down and I got off his back, panting and grinning hand as I twirled around, feeling like a really wins bed that has nothing to worry about. My heart was still pounding hard and anderlinije was still running through my veins. My eyes darted around and I noted that a stream of clear water, which was nestled at the other side of where we were currently standing. The full moon shone brightly over the calm stream and I suddenly felt like going for a swim.
“The run was so beautiful.” I said to the wolf on turning back to stare at him. His head was tilted sideways and his ears twitched, then he nuzzled my cheek, making me giggle and throw my arms around him.
“Is this a favorite spot of yours? Why did you bring me here tonight?” I asked after about a minute.
“Wait, is zoren aware of everything I ask you tonight or not? Seeing as you’re a wolf now and I don’t know how this works. Does he go to sleep in your head while you’re out here?”
Of course, I wasn’t gonna get a response. Wolves couldn’t talk. But I still wished that I could.
I met out a small huff as I stroked his ears and neck as I continued to speak.
“Anyways, I guess it doesn’t matter if he hears anything I tell you tonight. He doesn’t scare me.”
I let out a snort. That was a lie. He scared me a whole lot, but perhaps it wasn’t so much anymore, so I guess that was
progress.
“Zoren is such an amazing father to my son, more than I could ever have imagined. And I know he’s asked me to stop thanking him cause it was his job, but I feel like I need to thank him some more. I haven’t seen my son as happy as he is since Zoren came into his life. Zoren might have been a terror to me in the past, but he was nothing but nice to Kai from the start.”
I let out a small laugh, feeling silly that I was speaking to a wolf that couldn’t talk back, but I didn’t care. As the wolf sank down on his legs, I followed suit, leaning against his soft sides and feeling his warm fur surround me.
“And as for my son. He’s the happiest person I know right now. He’s never been this happy and carefree. He’s finally in where he belongs and seamlessly blended in. I’ll always be happy Zoren didn’t turn us away when he could have.”
I let out a sigh after that while my mind wandered, over all the memories I’ve made here in such a short period.
“As for myself… I am also my happiest.” I admitted, feeling myself grow a little shy as those words left my mouth. My heart was beating fast. It felt like I was confessing all of this to Zoren but not quite. If I was saying all this in his presence, I’d be a stuttering mess.
“I’m not fully sure of what that meant just yet, but I feel very happy.”
I huffed after that before continuing. “I broke up with my boyfriend because deep down, it’s because I was enjoying what was happening between us that I’d like to admit. It made me feel guilty. I shouldn’t want it, shouldn’t want you.”
“But alas, my body always seems to betray me when it comes to you, it always seems like I can’t think whenever I’m in your presence.” I revealed and exhaled long and hard, slumping against his side even more. That was when I realized he was letting out a low purr.
My eyes widened a little and I concentrated. The purr was low and rumbling and the more I listened, the more it sounded comforting and soothing. I let out a deep breath and let my muscles loosened, my eyes slowly growing heavy as the seconds went by.
I didn’t realize when I fell asleep.

When I came to, I was laying on some soft grass, and some fonder clothes were underneath my head. I stiffened as I slowly sat up, my eyes wandering over the expanse of the shy and grass. The moon still shone brightly and for a moment, I wondered how much had passed since I fell asleep.
I looked around as I slowly got to my feet. There was no sight of a wolf in sight. No sight of any human either.
Did Zoren leave me out here to myself? As those words crossed my mind, I turned around again, searching for a sight of him but finding none. With a jolt, I realized that I was now closer to the stream than I was before I fell asleep. Does this mean he moved me this close?
Before I could grow even more confused, the sound of approaching footsteps filled up my ears and I quickly whirled around, my heart pounding fast in my chest. My eyes instantly landed on Zoren, in a low slung pants and a handful of stuff in his arm as he leisurely strode towards me.
“You look scared. Did you think I left you alone?” He drawled as he stopped a few inches away. Instead of responding, before I could think twice, I flew into his chest and wrapped my arms around his waist.
“I was scared! I woke up alone.” I cried out, my heart still pounding away. He stiffened at first before his free arm bounded around me, making me feel all warm and fuzzy at once.
“Aw, but you had no reason to be. I’d never have abandoned you by yourself out here. I was getting some fruits and water I had stored around here for you. I thought you’d be asleep for much longer.” As he spoke, he nuzzled towards my neck and got to the mark he gaze at me. As he brushed his lips over the mark, I shuddered hard, gripping him tighter while my eyes
fluttered.
I pulled away fast, panting hard and turning away, my face reddened.
“I- it’s fine.” I blurted out in embarrassment. “I wasn’t that scared anyway.”
“Whatever you say, kitten.” He drawled after letting out a low snort.
But now I was feeling all hot and bothered. My heart was pounding hard in my chest, and as I listened to him put those stuff away, I slowly reminded myself to stop feeling so embarrassed.
“So… regarding all that you revealed to my wolf, I had no idea you felt that passionately about me.” He revealed in a casual tone and I choked on thin air.
