“No, stop it.” Zoren said sharply, leaving no room for arguments. “Remember I was the one who took you away last night? If anyone’s at faint here, it’s me.” He insisted vehemently, eyes so thick with emotions, it made me swallow before glancing

away.

“It’s no one’s fault… let’s just focus on finding him, that’s what matters now.” I breathed out, then my heart fluttered a little when he leaned in close and brushed his lips against my forehead.

When he pulled away, I got up along with him. “I’ll come with you,” I breathed out. He looked surprise as he regarded me. “Are you sure? The pack members might not he the most accepting when I break the news of having a mate and son to them, so it might be better…”

I shook my head. “I don’t care about that, I only care about Kai now. If they say anything mean, I won’t be affected, I promised. But I’ll just faint from overthinking if I remain in here and not out there also looking for him.”

He looked like he wanted to argue but thought better against it. He took my hand in his and as he squeezed around it, I felt myself draw strength from it.

“Let’s go then.”

After that, he walked out, pulling me along with him.

My heart was filled with so much worry as I thought of Kai once again, and for the hundredth time today, I reminded myself agsinst crying.

Standing in front of the large gathering, I stood at the far back of the stage along with Ethan and Jay while Zoren addressed the people. My stomach was in knots as I let my mind wander, focusing on the miracle that happened, which saved Gregg’s life. It was because of those weird trances which I’ve been unable to understand, but the important thing is to know was that it actually worked. The more I thought of it, I came to a conclusion. That means this could also help me find my son, couldn’t it? Even though in yet to fully make sense of how jt actually happens or how to get there for example, but at least I have a strong evidence to strengthen my faith and that’s Gregg who was saved this morning.

The crowd went crazy after that, screaming at the top of their lungs, making me stiffen while feeling unsure of if those screams were happy or not. Instantly, Zoren looked towards me, holding a hand out. I swallowed emptily as I walked forward and accepted it, letting him pull me right in front of the crowd./

“And this is my child’s mother, my fated mate and your future Luna.” I stiffened as those words washed over me, feeling floored that he was also mentioning all those when I thought he’d only focus on introducing Kai and urging everyone to find him instantly

An uproar instantly went up which had me flinching. Most of them sounded enraged as they stared up at me, shaking their heads adamantly.

“That’s anger gonna happen.”

“Isn’t she a human?”

“How is the pack’s Luna a human? Is that even possible?

“She’ll never sit on the throne. We’d never let that happen!”

I stiffened as I watched them speak, my heart crumbling. I had believed that I’d be able to live through all of this, but turns out I didn’t anticipate how bad it was gonna get to me. They were all rejecting me, and it made me feel so unwanted and so useless. I swallowed emptily, trying to keep a straight face as I caught Zoren’s eyes on me.

His hand tightened around my waist as he leaned down, uncaring that this was in public.

“You alright?” He asked and I cleared my throat before nodding. Even though they tried to use that bring me down, I wouldn’t give them the satisfaction of that.

He still kept staring at me before nodding and looking away, and when he dropped my hand, my heart crushed. I hadn’t raised how much I liked that until now that he was no longer holding me. However in the next moment, he draped a hand over my shoulder and pulled me flush against his side, knocking a gasp out of me.

He addressed the crowd after that and I noticed the way everyone’s eyes widened as they stared.

“You’ll all respect my future mate and your future lunar, understood?” He suddenly barked so sharply, a wave of silence settled over the crowd. A pin could be heard if it dropped.
