"That sounds like a good plan," the Chief Overseer said. "It also helps my case a lot. We have already lost many resources to this person, and if I'm wrong, we are only going to lose 50% of another wager. However, if I'm proven right, we will be able to get rid of an enemy recruit."
"Enemy?" Kyle asked with a raised brow.
"The line between enemies and competitors is blurry," the Chief Overseer said. "Our true enemy is the Cult of Final Fate, but the other Organizations are also after us. The difference is just that the Organizations are after the end of our Organization instead of the end of our existence."
"You could say the fight between Organizations is a traditional war between nations, while the fight against the Cult is about our survival."
Kyle nodded to show that he understood.
"Now, let's get to your advancement and your reward," the Chief Overseer said.
"You wish to have your advancement after the next shift as a Rarity Hunter, correct?" he asked.
"Yep," Kyle said. "Earning more Contribution Points is probably a good thing. Also, I only have to spend a couple of minutes or hours on this job. In addition, I don't want to just tell my team that I will leave them without a last shift together."
"That can be arranged," the Chief Overseer said. "Now, let's talk about your reward."
"First of all, I want to comment on your success as an Exchange Seeker. As you know, this job is mostly taken by people who are not very confident in becoming a 12/13 Primal, but that's obviously not the truth in your case."
"While sending you to more Organizations would promote our image in the eyes of these Organizations, I don't think that's the best use of your time anymore. Your advancement speed is amongst the top, and if you survive your potential fight, your Momentum should also be powerful enough to become a 12/13 Primal."
"If you survive your potential fight, you will become a person we want to invest in. Because of that, I want to give you a simple and straightforward reward."
"Freedom until you become a Crusher and the status of an Inner Disciple."
"It's important to note that you will receive both rewards immediately. As an Inner Disciple, you receive access to more information, a base allowance of 1,000 Contribution Points per century, and more lucrative choices for voluntary duties."
"How does that sound?"
Kyle nodded a couple of times in appreciation. "Yeah, that sounds pretty good. It's basically free money. Why wouldn't I accept?"
The Chief Overseer nodded. "Then, it's decided. According to the plan, if the enemy sends another challenge, you will fight them in roughly 500 years. You will do one last shift as a Rarity Hunter. You will not be sent to another Organization."
"Sounds great," Kyle said with a smile.
The next moment, the Chief Overseer took out a new Communicator and handed it to Kyle.
"The rankings of Disciples are hidden. Outer, Inner, and Core Disciples wear the same uniforms and look the same. The only way you can differentiate between them is by looking at the profile of their Communicator, which can only be shared by the owner."
"While you are allowed to share your status with anyone you want, I would advise against it. Every Organization has spies in every other Organization. The Organizations do not care about the Outer Disciples, but Inner Disciples will already enter their eyes."
The Chief Overseer narrowed his eyes. "This branch has over 500 Inner Disciples, and in the last century, over ten of them were assassinated by people beyond their Realm sent by other Organizations."
"While your fight will not be broadcast, there will still be a few members from the two Organizations present, which means your identity will be unveiled to the enemy. You have to be very careful in the future. Do you understand?" the Chief Overseer asked.
"Sure," Kyle answered casually.
'It's a bit like back when I exposed my identity as Theodor's inheritor. Except that I was already pretty strong.'
'Yeah, well, no risk, no reward, right?'
"Good," the Chief Overseer asked. "Then, I will contact you when we receive the challenge."
"Sure thing!" Kyle said casually.
The Chief Overseer teleported away, and Kyle looked at his new Communicator.
It looked just like the old one.
