"Well, good thing that it isn’t just Light that rules, no?"
Aeliana chuckled. Vyriana’s face turned solemn and—
"Are you expecting... the other Infinities to act?"
The Dragon asked directly and Aeliana—
"Not so quickly."
The vampire shook her head.
The women frowned.
Aeliana had a serious look on her face too.
"The other Infinities do not have any ’cause’ to make a move. Light has not stepped into their domain, in fact, it hasn’t made any statement after its initial statement.
So if any of the Infinities moved, this would be a direct declaration on Light with no solid grounds, and I do not believe any Infinity wants that, not right now."
"Since when do Infinities need a ’cause’ to act?"
Thyra questioned, confused.
Things like cause or a reason to wage war were... the thoughts of the weak.
Only the weak thought about what the people thought about them. Infinities, on the other hand, are the strongest; they wouldn’t care about such trivial matters. After all, if they do plan on waging war, no being in the Universe would be able to stop them.
People’s opinion simply did not matter.
But the problem here was different—
"As I said, this isn’t about the people.
The Four Infinities have been locked into this complicated deadlock against each other. A situation where every being balances out the other.
They are mostly equally strong; this is the reason that for trillions of years, no Infinity has ’won’ till now.
But right now, things are different.
The Universe is in chaos.
And Chaos... is always an opportunity."
Aeliana paused for a moment, then she glanced at Nux, who had been listening to them with interest all this while.
The Vampire then continued—
"To the Universe, the Anomaly might be a threat, a being who had killed trillions, a being they all want gone.
But to the Infinities—
He is an opportunity.
An opportunity to break this deadlock they are in. A variable none of them can calculate and while they all do wish to eliminate the Anomaly—
None of them wishes to do it right now.
This is also the reason why no Infinity is acting on its own, the reason why none of the Four Infinities appeared when Nux devoured the Sanctum Aurelios.
They want him to live, so he can keep creating these variables, to... shift something, anything.
And create an opportunity they can later use to benefit from."
"How do they even know they would benefit from it?"
Aisha questioned, curious.
"They do not."
This time, Amaya spoke up, shaking her head.
"They are just confident they will."
"In all this uncertainty?"
Aisha raised her eyebrow and the Devourer laughed.
"They are beings who have ruled the entire Universe since its beginning, you think they doubt themselves?"
"But they have no plan."
"They will eventually, or at least that’s what they think."
The Devourer answered and that was when Aeliana spoke again.
"They might even have a plan right now."
The rest of the women turned towards her and the Vampire continued slowly—
"The Anomaly is clearly targeting Light, our actions so far have made it very clear.
This battle isn’t the Infinities versus the Anomaly, at least not now, it’s Light versus Anomaly. So the other three Infinities simply won’t do anything.
They will let the two fight it out.
If Anomaly wins, they have one less Infinity to worry about and the Anomaly’s threat becomes real in their eyes.
If Light wins, then Anomaly was never a variable big enough to do anything in the first place.
In any of the two cases, the other Infinities do not lose anything."
"They lose an ally that could help them fight an external threat."
Vyriana narrowed her eyes.
Aeliana, however, just laughed.
"You overestimate yourself in their eyes if you think they actually see you or all of us together as a ’threat’.
At best, we are a ’slight inconvenience’ in their eyes."
And that was the truth.
The Infinities, no matter how much they acted like this was a serious situation, never once took Nux or the Anomaly seriously.
The only reason they even woke up was because they were... curious.
And they sensed an opportunity.
Their arrogance was simply too high to ever consider an unknown being a ’threat’.
"They are underestimating us."
Astaria spoke as she narrowed her eyes.
"They have all the right to."
Aeliana shrugged.
