In a long, unending, silent void, a thin black line appeared in the middle, and as that black line widened, a being with a ridiculously handsome face, long black hair, and determined golden eyes stepped forward.
And as this being hovered in this unknown space with terrifying calm, he began to observe where he was.
It was not a world, that much was for sure. There was no sky above him, no ground beneath him, no sun, no moon, no water, no wind, nor was there a fixed structure of... anything at all.
His next thought was a dimension, a separate dimension with its own strange structure, but that wasn’t the answer either.
If he had to give it a term or an explanation, then it was...
A forgotten reality.
The being looked around, his golden eyes shining with curiosity, then he expanded his senses, looking for anyone around and...
Just as he expected—
They weren’t here.
’It wasn’t a trap.’
He nodded to himself because while they weren’t here,
He was.
And that made the being smile.
’So this is where you were hiding.
So this is why not even the Infinities were able to find you.’
He thought inwardly as his senses continued to perceive the... place he was in, if it could even be called a ’place’ in the first place.
Because whatever this was...
It was... different.
Even as he extended his senses, he got no answers.
No world’s energy reacted to his, no ’Laws’ existed here, no life, no death, no time, no space, no beginning, no end.
There was nothing.
Heck, he couldn’t even sense the Universal Energy that was everywhere in the Universe, even in the deepest, unexplored parts of the void.
It was almost as if...
This place was removed from the Universe’s memory.
A place that shouldn’t exist but... did.
And that was where Zylarith Chaosveil was. That was the reason no one could find him.
It was because no one remembered this place even existed.
’Heh.’
Nux laughed inwardly, mostly at how absurd Zylarith’s abilities were and at the same time—
At that woman.
Because even after all this, even when he hid in a place forgotten by the Universe itself, in a place even the Infinities could not find, there he was—
Standing right in front of the coordinates she gave.
Nux didn’t even have to move, he didn’t need to extend his senses, he didn’t have to find him. He was right there—
Right in front of him.
Just...
What sort of existence was she?
He couldn’t help but wonder in his head.
But right now, that didn’t matter.
Because all that mattered right now was him. So without waiting, Nux extended his domain. Dark, inexplicable matter surrounded everything around, including him, and just like that—
Zylarith Chaosveil was inside Nux’s Domain.
Nux’s smile widened, his golden eyes shone as his domain was completed, separating him and Zylarith from the Main Universe, from the Infinities.
That was when Zylarith finally reacted.
He, in his Soul Form, turned around and looked at him with a confused, almost surprised look on his face.
"How..."
He spoke in a... weak voice, almost as if he hadn’t used his true voice for countless years, yet even that weak word made the grey darkness around him tremble.
That, however, wasn’t important, because before he could even complete his question, Nux’s own body disintegrated into nothingness, almost as if its role was complete and it was no longer needed.
Zylarith’s frown deepened, but the next instant, his confusion disappeared and was replaced by understanding.
"A puppet."
He muttered out loud, already getting used to using his own voice and not just talking through different artifacts using his mind.
That was when he heard another voice—
"That is correct."
The voice echoed throughout the space, coming from every single direction, but that didn’t confuse Zylarith. He simply turned in a particular direction, and there he was—
Nux Leander, standing right in front of him, with that same calm but arrogant smile on his face.
"Welcome, Father."
Zylarith narrowed his eyes, the mist around him twisting.
He stared at Nux for a long time, almost as if his mind couldn’t process what was happening. Nux didn’t rush him either.
This was his Universe.
No other force could interfere with them.
And as strange as stating this felt, Nux now had time.
Time for a long overdue, heartfelt conversation with his dear Soul Father.
So for a while, the two beings stared at each other, Nux with a silent smile and Zylarith with a confused frown.
Then, about two seconds later—
Zylarith laughed out loud.
"You came."
He spoke, his unstable Soul Form shifting.
