"Why come to me?"
Zylarith asked, soon however, he changed his question to something else.
"How did you even find me?"
Again, Nux didn’t say anything and once again, to Zylarith, that didn’t matter. He was trillions of years old, the amount of information in his head made it difficult for any being to hide something from him—
Even Nux was no exception to that.
Because even as Nux hadn’t said a word since they met, Zylarith was already thinking of an answer and—
"Ah..."
He got it.
"The Seer."
He spoke in realization. Nux didn’t show any reaction, but Zylarith was sure, and he didn’t seem offended, instead, he looked amused.
"So she finally moved."
"You know her."
Nux asked, trying to take back some control in the conversation.
"I know many things, child."
Zylarith chuckled softly.
"I know many people who think they know many things."
Nux shot back, but to Zylarith, this was just the action of a petty child trying to win a fight he wouldn’t.
"Why would she help you though...?"
He thought inwardly. Nux did not matter, his secrets were already out, the Seer however, was trouble, even for him.
The only being even he couldn’t completely understand all his life.
The being with whom he, in the past, had... quite the connection with.
"What can I say? I am quite charming."
Nux chuckled, trying to get a reaction out of Zylarith but—
"You are even bigger of a fool than I thought if you believe she is helping you because you are charming."
Zylarith just laughed, not giving any other important reaction.
Nux stayed silent.
Honestly, Zylarith’s question always bothered him too, now, more than ever. Why would the Seer help him? He obviously didn’t believe the answer he gave to Zylarith, he wasn’t that foolish, but the lack of an answer troubled him too—
Not that it mattered right now.
"You too."
Nux commented as he stopped thinking about it.
"For a being who is supposedly trillions of years old, your instincts are quite... weak. Or maybe it is because you are trillions of years old that your instincts have rusted? Hmm?
Who knows?
But for a being whose death is right in front of him, you are quite calm.
Foolishly calm."
"My death?"
Zylarith actually seemed surprised.
"My... death?"
He repeated.
Then he laughed.
"You should not have brought me here."
Zylarith looked at him and continued—
"At least the Main Universe was a place where neither of us could raise our hands. The Universe treats you like an enemy and it treats me like a soul that should not exist.
Both of us were tied down, neither of us could make a move, meaning neither of us could hurt each other—
But now?"
Zylarith paused for a moment.
Then, maybe out of the kindness of his heart—
"You do realize this little dimension of yours is not a prison for me, correct?"
He asked, making sure this child actually knew what he was doing.
And Nux—
He looked at him and his golden eyes shined.
Of course he knew that.
He didn’t directly come here after talking to Seer, he had gone to Azriel, and after talking with him, he had made an active decision.
"I know."
Nux answered.
Zylarith laughed.
"So you knew what would happen the moment you brought me outside of my Universe’s influence?"
He asked, just to be sure.
"I did."
Nux nodded.
"You knew what was going to happen when my Soul was no longer under the Universe’s scrutiny?"
"I did."
"You knew that the moment I was out, I would be able to use my Law, without anything holding me back?"
He asked again, this time, Nux looked at him calmly, then—
"That was the point."
Nux answered and the space around Zylarith trembled as more and more Chaos Energy gathered around him.
"So this is why you came to me."
Zylarith realized it, his violet eyes shined with a cruel light.
"You thought out of all the Infinities, I was the easiest to defeat because I no longer have my Physical Body."
"Exactly."
Nux nodded.
And he wasn’t lying.
"The easiest to defeat huh..."
BOOOOOOOM
While his Universe could contain Zylarith, his existence was... too large, too strong, for him to... command him.
RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE
Nux’s dimension trembled violently, the strand above Zylarith’s hand exploded in every direction as reality itself... began to distort.
Then, for some odd reason, the anger on Zylarith’s face disappeared and was replaced with a smile, almost as if...
Zylarith no longer saw Nux as an opponent after testing his power, to him, Nux was now... a source of entertainment.
"Do you know the difference between an Eternity and an Infinity?"
He asked with a curious look on his face.
Nux did not answer, he just stared at him in silence, prompting him to continue, after all, this was the reason he had brought him here in the first place, so he could let go and tell him the secrets he did not know.
Secrets no one else could tell him.
Zylarith knew that as well, he knew Nux was only acting like this because he needed answers, but it simply did not matter—
In his mind, the battle was already over.
So the least he could do here was entertain himself as long as he could, so he gave Nux what he wanted, after all, this was the least he could do for a child who had brought an entire Universe in his hands.
"An Eternity creates a Domain—"
Zylarith began as the space around him twisted because too much Chaos Energy had gathered around him.
"—because he needs walls.
A boundary where they can become Absolute.
A room.
A throne."
Zylarith then smiled and—
"Or a cage."
His voice then deepened and—
"But an Infinity..."
The entire dimension went silent as Zylarith’s form expanded, not physically, conceptually. His presence seeped into the void around him, into the light, the darkness, the laws and the empty spaces between them.
Nux recognized it instantly.
The Body of Chaos.
Only far more advanced, far more terrifying than Sharnoth’s.
"An Infinity does not need a Domain."
Zylarith’s voice came from everywhere.
"An Infinity does not need a Throne to rule, they do not need a clear Boundary to call themselves mighty.
For them—
Reality itself is enough."
He explained and Nux’s body tensed as he sensed the changes in the void around him. It was still dark, it was still his Universe, everything was still in his control, but...
Zylarith’s presence, his... Chaos...
Was now everywhere.
"Allow me to show you, Nux Leander."
Zylarith’s voice came again.
"What the weakest Infinity, the Infinity of Chaos, is."
