"So what I am trying to say is—
You should not exist."
Nux spoke with an absolutely serious look on his face and the Seer just laughed—
"You should be the last person saying that, Nux."
"..."
Nux didn’t know how he was supposed to counter it.
He... was a living Universe.
While that in itself was an Anomaly, that in itself made him different from other living beings, but even when compared to other Universes...
He was the only Universe that had an entirely different Concept of Time.
Even amongst the countless Universes, he... was an Anomaly.
A Multiversal Anomaly.
An existence even the Multiverse had decided to just... ignore.
He should be the last person to say the words he just said.
The Seer smiled when she saw his reaction, as if she knew exactly what he was thinking, but then, she explained—
"I only should not exist because you exist.
But in the eyes of the Multiverse, you do not exist.
Ending my existence would be accepting your existence, and the Multiverse would not do that."
"So you are alive because... the Multiverse hates me?"
Nux tilted his head and the Seer—
"In a certain sense, yes."
She laughed.
"..."
Nux didn’t know what he was supposed to say or feel.
He thought about it for a moment and then—
"But what about the changes my existence caused? The reason for your existence no longer exists, shouldn’t you... do something about it?
Is that why you asked for Vashti’s body from the Infinities in return for giving me to them?"
He asked with a curious look on his face and the Seer, she just shrugged.
"That’s the Multiverse’s problem to deal with.
As for asking for Vashti’s body, I only did that so those five do not doubt me. They would never trust me if I helped them without asking anything in return."
Nux looked at her with a deadpan look on his face.
"So from the start... all you really cared about was getting me surrounded by the Infinities so they could kill me the way you wanted them to and send me here huh..."
He muttered with an understanding look on his face but just then—
"Well..."
The Seer looked away, almost as if she was trying to avoid that topic. Nux noticed that and that made him narrow his eyes.
He moved and appeared where the Seer was looking, the woman looked away again and—
"You know you are being obvious, right? Almost purposefully so."
"I... do not wish to hide anything but I do not know how to say it either..."
The Seer answered with a hesitant look on her face.
"Say it."
But Nux was different.
The last thing he wanted right now was for the Seer to hide anything from him, she had already betrayed his trust once and the only way to win it back, if that was even possible in the first place, was to come clean.
The Seer knew that as well, this was the entire reason she made it so obvious instead of hiding it, but even then... it wasn’t an easy thing for her to explain.
"I said say it."
Nux spoke in an even colder tone and after a little more hesitation.
"Well..."
The Seer began.
