Surrender To Us, Our Luna (One Luna, Four Alphas) novel Chapter 566

Chapter 566: 566-Stabbed In The Back In The North

Yorick:

My head snapped toward Haiden and then back at Mathias.

"You fucking want me to do what?" he had asked in confusion.

His eyes locked on Mathias because all of us were scared that one wrong movement and he would slit her throat.

She looked eerily frozen too.

I felt bad for her.

She probably wanted to do something independently, and the first thing she did, this asshole attacked her.

"Do you want me to repeat it to you? Is it music to your ears?" Mathias grunted, laughing out loud.

His one eye had a black pirate-type thing on it.

Just like before, but his hair had grown, so had his beard now.

He had really lost control."Kill your friend’s mate," Mathias spelled it out again.

"You do realize that his mate is not only his mate, but someone I had grown up with too, right?" he said, trying to spark some emotions in him, but I could tell that that was not even a thing for Mathias.

Emotions were something he no longer relied on because he looked at him and then started to chuckle out loud.

"So, the more, the better," he commented, causing our jaws to drop.

"We have spent time with you, Mathias. How could you turn out this way? How could you not even..."

As I tried to speak to him, he gave me a hand gesture to silence me.

"Exactly, we have spent time together. Instead of helping me with the revenge, you all took her side." He hissed, his eyes glistening with tears.

When Mathias’s eyes moved to Mariana again, I grew very protective of her.

I quickly pulled my hand back, grabbed Mariana’s wrist, and pushed her farther to the side, away from Haiden as well.

"I am not going to do that," Haiden yelled at Mathias.

I watched Fauna trying to hold onto Mathias’s wrist, trying to push the dagger away just enough to breathe, but he kept it tight.

The fear in Fauna’s eyes made me feel for her and Haiden, because I felt the same way. I was anxious.

I was scared of what would happen next.

"He has my sister, Fauna," Mariana spoke softly from behind me, reminding me that she did not want to be saved.

She was more worried about her sister.

"I know, and we are trying to communicate with him," I hissed back at her in a whisper, because I understood what she was trying to say.

"But I cannot let her die," she uttered again.

I turned quickly just to give her a harsh glare.

"Just because he is asking to trade their lives does not mean that you have to lose yours, Mariana," I whispered to her, my emotions all over the place because she was not understanding that she was as important to me as her sister was to her.

"But I need to do something," Mariana requested.

But I did not let go of her hand. I did not want her to sacrifice herself.

I knew she wanted to, but how could I accept that?

How could I believe that losing her would ever be okay for me? It would not. I would not be okay.

"She is innocent. They are both innocent. Your anger is toward us. We were not able to save your mate that day," Haiden tried to reason with Mathias.

Mathias shook his head in disbelief.

Of course, he did not believe it.

He had stayed here for so long, surrounded by negativity, that even if someone showed him what really happened that day, it would not matter.

It would not matter how chaotic it was, or how his mate refused to listen.

He would not believe it.

He had spent too much time here to accept that he had made the wrong decision, that his judgment had been wrong.

"I said what I had to say," Mathias repeated.

"No one will understand my pain until they have gone through it," he added, giving us a crooked smile.

"Haiden, if you do not want me to kill your mate, you have to kill Yorick’s mate. That is the final decision. That is the last option. I will not give you any more choices before I kill her. And after that, I will come after every single one of you."

Mathias continued until he suddenly stopped. His eyes landed on the stone in my hands.

I watched him frown in confusion.

"Wait, you were not supposed to take it off. Was it not supposed to be cleaned?" he asked, his tone soft and confused.

"Did you not complete the mission? Wait... is it the next day?"

As he spoke, I realized he was confused.

He was trying to piece together whether his mate had died the day before while we were still carrying out the task.
