Chapter 336 Moving the Native Camp
“Promote those top performers to Elite Members right now.”
Riley did not hold back. She simply adjusted the backend settings and upgraded their permission to Tier 2.

[Guild Announcement: Members ToxicReaper, Ketchup, LoneWolf, Knife, and Nobody have shown outstanding performance in the first resource battle. They are officially promoted to Elite Members! Advanced warehouse exchange access unlocked!]
After rewarding the top players, Riley lowered the resource exchange prices in the guild warehouse by 20% for all remaining members.
The loud celebration at the guild residence slowly died down. Everyone was happy, but none of them forgot the cruel truth of this harsh world.
When the first ray of sunlight broke through the clouds the next morning, the members of Hope Guild returned to their busy daily routines.
A campfire meant the difference between life and death. Resources hung over every survivor’s head like a deadly sword.

Swoosh!
An ice spike glowing bright blue zipped past Riley’s cheek. It slammed hard into the stone wall behind her and burst into sharp ice shards.
Riley’s eyes turned cold. She flipped her wrist and hurled her axe.
Storm Splitter Dual Axes traced a clean arc through the air. With a sharp whistling sound, the blade sliced a chunk of flesh straight off the arm of the pure-white Frost Ape charging toward her.
Riley rushed forward right behind her flying axe. She swung her second axe the moment she closed the distance. Purple ape blood splattered across the snow and froze solid in an instant.
The massive six-foot-tall monster fell heavily to the ground, turning into a faintly glowing piece of beast hide.
Riley walked over to pick up the drop, her brows tightly furrowed.

That was the third monster she had killed near camp
that morning.

More and more monsters were spawning in broad daylight.
It was not just their numbers. They were appearing in more dangerous spots, and their overall strength had grown noticeably higher.
In the past, only wild beasts showed up during the day. Now actual monsters were roaming freely.
The Frost Ape she had just slain had spawned less than a hundred yards from her camp gate. Other guild members had posted updates in the group chat too. Lately, mutated daylight monsters kept popping up out of nowhere in small woodlands, treasure spawn zones, and the outer edges of low-level resource nodes.
[ToxicReaper: The system definitely messed with the spawn rate! I went out to pick herbs at noon, and two Shadow Crocodiles popped out of the swamp. I’d be dead if I hadn’t reacted fast!]
[Ketchup: Yeah! I was cutting wood, and an elite monster spawned right beside me. The system is clearly making resource gathering harder and more dangerous.]
Riley closed the panel after reading their complaints and stood quietly in the snow, deep in thought.
The system never made random changes without a reason.
After server merging, survivors had grouped up into guilds, seized resource nodes, and gathered supplies far more efficiently. The system simply did not want anyone growing too comfortable in the frozen wasteland. By increasing daytime monster spawns, it forced every survivor to stay ready for battle at all times.
“If the danger level is rising, we need to redo our outer defense plans.”
Instead of heading back to camp right away, Riley carefully inspected the surrounding terrain,
Her camp was protected by the constant temperature barrier of the Intermediate Elemental Altar. Two automated crossbow towers covered the main gate with overlapping fire ranges. Even a monster horde could not break through quickly.
The real problem was the native NPCs.
Joseph and his two nephews, the newly recruited Jack and Tom, winemaker Lily, and accountant Anna all stayed in a simple wooden-and-stone dormitory Riley had built outside the camp perimeter. (2)
