Chapter 358 The Secret of the Oil Refinery

Chapter 358 The Secret of the Oil Refinery

“They’d definitely argue with you everyone says I’ve got a sharp tongue,” Hanna laughed.

Around the bonfire, the other members of the Icefield Drifters Alliance joined in the playful teasing

“C’mon Hanna, you know we’re just worried you’d think we’re being childish.”

Hanna rested her hands on the armrests of her chair and pretended to stand up as if she were about to chase after them.

It was only a bluff, but Fly still stumbled back in fright, making everyone roar with laughter.

Not far away, Riley had just finished her patrol. A faint smile tugged at her lips as she watched the warm, easy mood by the fire.

She turned and walked toward the Bonfire Altar at the center of the camp.

PineappleBeer sat alone on a rock, quietly polishing her dagger. SouthWind and NorthWind, the alliance’s leader and vice leader, had clearly been waiting there for a long time.

“Riley, Pineapple Beer, please have a seat.” NorthWind handed over two mugs of steaming coffee politely.

The four gathered around the altar, bathed in the warm glow of the flames.

After fighting side by side through the brutal battle that afternoon, they shared a bond forged by life-and-death struggle. They exchanged a few casual pleasantries before slipping straight into serious talk.

SouthWind shot NorthWind a glance and gave an almost imperceptible nod.

NorthWind took a deep breath, set down his mug, and looked solemnly at Riley and PineappleBeer.

“SpicyBurger, PineappleBeer… I owe you both the full truth behind this sudden disaster that landed on us out of nowhere.”

Riley arched an eyebrow slightly, holding her coffee without speaking, simply listening quietly.

Deep down, she already saw the whole picture clearly. WarWolf Guild was the largest faction on the server with hundreds of members. There was no way they’d waste rare, valuable items just to lay siege to a mere Level 4 camp belonging to ap alliance vice leader. It simply wasn’t worth the cost.

There had to be a secret hidden inside this camp-one big enough to make WarWolf go all out like this.

Meeting Riley’s calm gaze, NorthWind steeled himself and decided to lay everything out on the table.

“A long while back, I got ridiculously lucky and triggered a hidden treasure chest. Inside, I found an extremely rare permanent structure blueprint-the Small Oil Refinery & Production Unit.”

At the word oil, PineappleBeer’s dagger-polishing motions froze instantly.

Riley’s heart also skipped a beat.

Oil was a resource powerful enough to draw armed forces even back on Earth, its strategic value beyond question.

In this frozen wasteland, oil stood as a top-tier strategic resource. It fueled heating devices, powered high-end vehicles, and was a key ingredient for crafting all kinds of explosive gadgets-far more valuable than coal.

Most Importantly, the fuel tanks for Riley and PineappleBeer’s snowmoblies were nearly empty. They’d been struggling to find a reliable fuel source for days,

NorthWind let out a helpless sigh and went on.

“It should’ve been the luckiest break ever, but thus reward has a brutal catch. The structure binds permanently to the owner’s camp the moment you view the blueprint. It materializes instantly on-site, with no way to stash it in your inventory or move it anywhere

else.

“And just my luck, not long after I got it, one of WarWolf’s scouts saw it by accident. They demanded / hand over the blueprint right away, acting totally domineering. But the structure was already rooted in my camp-there was nothing I could give them. I had no choice but to turn their deal down.”

NorthWind smiled bitterly and nodded toward the wind and snow beyond the camp’s borders.

“You know the rest. WarWolf’s territory isn’t all that far from here. They tracked my camp coordinates down step by step. A harmless man becomes a target just for owning something coveted. Isimply wasn’t strong enough to protect what I had.”

SouthWind chimed in with a tone of regret.
