The moment the message dropped, the guild channel erupted in a roar of deafening cheers.
“Long live the Boss!”
“Look at that big boss energy! Gouging the outsiders for double and handing out massive discounts at home!”
“Man, following the right boss is literally everything.”
Watching the spam of gratitude, Riley casually picked out a few guildmate commissions and tossed their gear into the processing threads for crafting and repairs. Since the workbench only took a few minutes to crank out blue gear now, it was zero hassle.
While she was staring at the progress bars, absentmindedly going through the motions…
Creaaaak-
The heavy iron door of the Tool Room was suddenly pushed open a crack.
Riley whipped her head around instinctively, on high alert.
But when she saw who it was, her tightly strung nerves instantly relaxed, and her eyes unconsciously softened.
Standing in the doorway was TartKing, wearing loungewear identical to her own.
She was holding a massive, multi–tiered insulated food carrier in her hands, struggling a bit to kick the heavy iron door shut with her heel.
“I knew it,” TartKing said, planting her hands on her hips and rolling her eyes in exasperation as she looked at Riley still glued to the workbench interface.
“Once you start working, you literally never stop. You barely rested before getting right back to the grind do you honestly think you’re made of iron? You locked yourself in here without a single crack of light showing. I was looking for you forever.”
TartKing grumbled while flashing the food carrier in her hand.
Riley glanced up at the holographic clock on the lab wall.
It was already 8:15 PM.

Thinking back on the past few hours of frenzied money–making, she did feel a bit hungry.
“Alright,” Riley said, just as a “ding” sounded from the control panel and Table’s repaired blue arm guard popped out.
“Just finished the last piece.”
Riley walked over, naturally taking the heavy carrier from TartKing’s hands, carrying it with one hand, and turning to walk outside with her.
“Let’s go. Back to the dining room to eat.”
“Sure thing. By the way, Riley, how did your Tool Room totally change shape?”
“I used another upgrade card. Gotta tell ya, crafting is way more efficient now, which is why I got so hooked,” Riley paused before asking, “Oh right, where’s Neeko?”
“Neeko? I accidentally woke her up while looking for you in the main house. She slept all the way until just now. I already portioned out some food for her; she’s eating in the dining room. It’s just weird that the power’s out in the house for some reason.”
Riley nodded. Neeko usually crashed like this after copying her or healing people; she replenished her mana through sleep, so it wasn’t surprising she was out for so long.
As for the power outage, that was because the Tool Room’s power draw had skyrocketed. Once activated, the rest of the camp’s grid simply couldn’t handle the load. Now that she had stopped using the equipment, the power elsewhere would naturally come back on. Still, she really needed to find time to build some more power generators.
The two walked out of the Tool Room side by side.
Outside, the sky was completely pitch black, and fine snowflakes danced in the night sky.
Inside the first–floor dining room of the main house, mahogany logs crackled brightly in the nearby fireplace.
Neeko was sitting obediently at the dining table, eating her food. Seeing TartKing and Riley walk in, she quickly stood up to greet them.
TartKing walked to the table, took the carrier from Riley, and helped open it, laying out the dishes one by one.
Riley stepped aside to wash her hands first.
Looking at the table full of dishes, she smiled sheepishly. She really had gotten carried away.
