“People have been steadily referring new members for a while, but the conflict with WarWolf and the monster horde pushed everything back. I finally had time to sort through it today. Because of you crafting gear for people, Hope Guild’s reputation has absolutely exploded. I followed your previous criteria and weeded out a huge chunk of freeloaders trying to muddy the waters. Right now, there are over thirty people who passed the initial screening. Should I stick to the old rules, pull them all in, and put them on a probationary period?”

Riley put down her chopsticks, her brow furrowing slightly.

The original plan was to directly absorb them into Hope Guild for a trial period, but right now, there seemed to be a much better option.

A few seconds later, she raised her eyes, her gaze crystal clear.

“Don’t let them into Hope Guild yet,” Riley said calmly.

“Huh? Then how do we handle them?” TartKing blinked, confused.

“The Drifters Alliance,” Riley replied flatly.

TartKing’s eyes shot wide open, and realization instantly dawned on her.

During the post–war wrap–up this morning, because the Drifters Alliance leader SouthWind had sacrificed himself, the permissions transferred to vice–leader NorthWind.

Riley had originally wanted to merge all the remaining Drifters into Hope Guild, but NorthWind stubbornly insisted on keeping the “Drifters Alliance” banner alive to honor SouthWind. Ultimately, Riley gifted him an epic guild relocation card, allowing Northwind to move the entire Drifters base right next door to Hope Guild.

Riley nodded. “NorthWind and SouthWind were honestly way better at managing a guild than I am. Having him guard an empty shell of a guild by himself is a waste. Giving him some people to manage is a net positive for our overall strength anyway.

“But there’s one important thing: we gotta make sure the benefits keep up. Trials are trials, but we can’t skimp on Hope Guild’s standard welfare. Hard work deserves proper rewards.”

“Agreed!” TartKing stood up with a beaming smile. “Why don’t you keep eating, Boss? I’m gonna head over to the base next door and talk to NorthWind about this right now. You just chill and eat.”

Riley didn’t slow down her eating, simply asking between bites, “By the way, how are the new transfers from the Drifters blending in?”

“Pretty great, actually. They’re all super sweet and really reliable people,” TartKing answered.

“I’m planning to pick one of them to make a core member of Hope Guild. What do you think about Hanna?”

TartKing nodded almost without hesitation, her tone extremely supportive.

“Hanna is an absolute perfect fit!” TartKing recalled the bloody battle. “When the deep–layer horde broke out and the WarWolf remnants hit the frontline, Arthur and Damian panicked a bit. Hanna literally tanked the absolute front, protecting everyone around her, and even kicked two fleeing WarWolf cowards back into the fray. She’s got that natural big–sister personality. Even back in the Drifters, she was always joking around and bringing everyone together. She’s strong enough, and she’s got the respect. With NorthWind gone, giving her core member perms will definitely keep the former Drifters happy, and the veteran Hope Guild members won’t have any complaints either.”
