Riley had just planted the Glacial Core Lotus in there yesterday afternoon. If those three demolition machines ran in there to goof off and trampled her snow lotus to mush, Riley would probably cough up blood out of sheer rage.
“I know, I know! I promise I’ll watch them! We won’t step a single foot near the pocket dimension! I won’t even go look for Twiggy to play!” Neeko patted her chest, swearing a solemn oath, before skipping happily out of the living room.
Once Neeko left, Riley washed her hands, stepped up to the kitchen counter, and joined TartKing and Pineapple Beer’s prep–work assembly line.
The three girls stood side by side. Riley was in charge of washing vegetables, PineappleBeer handled the chopping, and TartKing mixed the various fillings and seasonings. Even though this was the apocalypse, inside this small kitchen, there was a rare, relaxing vibe that felt exactly like a pre–apocalypse girls‘ get–together.
“Oh, by the way, let me tell you guys something.” While draining the washed cabbage, Riley recounted her blind–box unboxing session in the Tool Room last night, specifically detailing the origin of the Glacial Core Lotus.
Hearing the story of the poor bastard who carried a bouquet of red roses for his anniversary, only to end up in the belly of a giant catfish—which then used the lotus’s scent to create a deadly trap–TartKing pouted.
“That’s so tragic… The person waiting for him is probably never gonna see him again,” TartKing said.
But PineappleBeer quickly caught the main point, turning to look at Riley. “You said that thing is called a Glacial Core Lotus?”
“Yeah, the system description is super vague. It didn’t list specific effects.” Riley shook the water off her hands. “I already planted it by the pond in the pocket dimension. Good thing the ecosystem in there is strong enough, otherwise it would’ve died.”
“I think I’ve heard of that before.” Pineapple Beer frowned slightly, seemingly digging deep into the fragmented memories of her past life. “Rumor has it, it’s not just a material for crafting top–tier ice–enchanted gear. Once fully mature, the entire plant can be refined into a life–saving, resurrection–tier magic potion. Moreover, wherever it takes root, the concentration of magical elements and spiritual energy in the surrounding area skyrockets. It acts like a natural mana–gathering beacon.”
PineappleBeer looked up, staring at Riley with intense seriousness. “That thing is incredibly precious. You made the right call planting it in the pocket dimension. We definitely shouldn’t let outsiders know it exists.”
“It’s really that overpowered?” TartKing’s jaw dropped. She turned to Riley, her face full of disbelief. “Seriously, Riley, your RNG is a little too crazy. Your luck has completely flipped.”
୮
“Maybe it’s the good karma I built up from doing good deeds. After having garbage luck for so long, it’s only normal to catch a break once in a while.” Riley raised an eyebrow, bragging shamelessly. “That stupid catfish was wasting top–tier loot anyway. Sitting on a genuine treasure and choosing to use a fake model to fish? Well, it’s mine now.”
“Good thing you were cautious enough. If you had actually gone up to pick it, things would’ve gone south fast,” PineappleBeer said.
“Who do you think I am? I’m SpicyBurger.” Riley flashed a rare, smug expression, making a joke.
“And I’m TartKing!”
A crisp burst of laughter echoed through the kitchen. The three girls bantered and joked as they sorted the prepped meat, vegetables, and dough into several massive food carriers.

By 10:00 AM, the prep work was mostly finished. The three packed the heavy carriers into their system Inventories, ready to haul them over to the guild base.
Stepping out of the camp’s bonfire radius, they were immediately met with a sky full or swirling blizzards. But despite the biting cold wind outside, their moods were burning as hot as charcoal.
Fortunately, after the expansion of Riley’s bonfire radius, the distance to the guild base was practically nothing.
Stepping through the stone walls, a chaotic wave of noise washed over them.
“A little to the left! Bruce, pull your side up a bit! Yeah, yeah, exactly like that! Tie it tight!”
