Chapter 470 New Beginnings
They were similar to the structures Joseph and his group lived in, just connected in a xow.
Then came the internal retrofitting.
The interior space wasn’t large, but it was designed efficiently.
Because of the population, they’d have to put five or six people per room for now.
But for refugees, this was actually more than enough; it worked out to two or three people per room.
Moreover, the interior finish and furniture didn’t lose out to the architecture of their own villages.
To them, this was nothing short of a divine miracle!

“Six per room. Men and women separate. Families can request priority for a shared room.” Lily and Anna walked over with clipboards, stepping into their roles as logistics supervisors.
Next was the move–in and allocation. Riley didn’t plan to put these people to work immediately; she gave them time to recover and adapt.
With Joseph there, the integration of these natives was quite fast.
In just three days, the survival order on the icefield was forcibly pushed into a brand–new phase under Hope Guild’s efficient operation.
The twenty–four new arrivals adapted to life on the perimeter of the camp with astonishing speed.
Meanwhile, the Hope Guild survivors weren’t idling either.
The “topographical reconstruction dividend” following the storm was fully captured by the guild.
Core members led teams to survey all terrain and hazards within a 6–mile radius of the guild base.
The ice ridges that formed after the Great Rift vanished, while difficult to traverse, had revealed no monsters during the day.
Even more surprisingly, on the leeward slope at the edge of the coniferous forest, Damian’s squad discovered a small vein of Mithril Ore exposed on a stone wall. The exact yield was unknown, but it was more than enough for the current survivors.
Shortly after, Hanna and a few recruits found a small patch of berry bushes in a hollow basin in the hills. They brought back plenty of saplings, planning to plant them near the guild base as decoration and a source of vitamins–a double win.
NorthWind reported this in the guild management group and immediately organized a “rotating harvesting shift” pairing veterans with recruits.
The guild channel had been unusually active these past few days. The thriving atmosphere of the post–war recovery gave every member a sense of stability.
As the architect of all this, Riley actually found herself enjoying some rare downtime.
After the blizzard cleared, all survivors were frantically scouting resources and claiming territory. The number of orders coming in

for her to craft purple gear plummeted, which suited Riley just fine. Money wasn’t everything; excessive material monopoly was a recipe for upsetting the server balance. Now was the perfect time to consolidate
Inside the underground repair shop in the Tool Room.
Riley had converted this space into a makeshift mechanical laboratory.
The holographic control panel emitted a pale blue light, illuminating the basement.
Scattered across the massive metal workbench was a pile of Mechanical Parts.
On the other side of the workbench, black iron barrels were stacked neatly.
These were sent over by NorthWind of the Drifters Alliance.
Ever since the two guilds merged, NorthWind had honored his promise and continuously funneled the output of the Permanent Oil Production Unit into the Hope Guild warehouse. What lay before her was just a small fraction she had pulled for personal testing.
However, staring at the fuel, Riley felt a headache coming on.
Oil was a treasure–the lifeblood of industry.
But at the current stage of base development, fuel consumption was pitifully low; there was almost nowhere to use it.
The camp’s current power supply relied entirely on the thirty–something small wind turbines on the roofs and perimeter walls.
Even with the wind easing after the blizzard, the daily breeze was more than enough.
The only things that truly required gasoline were the vehicles.
But currently, the entire guild only possessed three snowmobiles.
