“500 tokens! It’s mine!” a heavy armored warrior with bloodshot eyes screamed.
The crowd sucked in a collective breath. 500 Frost Tokens–even if their server had been grinding longer than Riley’s, that was an
astronomical sum.
Staring at the orange blueprint, a primal hunger flashed in Hanna’s eyes.
She knew exactly how much an orange weapon would skyrocket their combat power.
Riley felt a flicker of temptation too, but it vanished in half a second, crushed by cold, hard logic.
“Stop staring. Let’s go,” Riley patted Hanna’s shoulder, her voice deadpan.
“But Boss, that’s an orange weapon…” Hanna sounded utterly heartbroken.
“A weapon doesn’t mean jack if you’re dead,” Riley replied soberly, already pushing her way out of the crowd.
“The rule down here is 100% full loot drop. Even if you can afford it, you gotta have the strength to carry it out. Look at how many eyes are glued to that thing. It’s hard enough just trying to regroup our scattered guild right now; carrying a massive target on our backs like that would make it impossible to move an inch.”
Hanna nodded, understanding the logic instantly. She didn’t dwell on it, snapping her focus back to reality as she followed Riley to the other stalls, hunting for practical supplies.
Leaving the chaotic auction zone, Riley’s shopping efficiency went through the roof.
She had the capital to flex because she had hoarded a massive stash of Frost Tokens before even entering the dungeon, thanks to pawning off useless monster drops to the Wandering Merchant in the Magic Beast Forest.
Riley’s first target was a goblin stall specializing in single–use consumable cards.
“Equipment Upgrade Cards. How many do you have?” Riley locked eyes with the blue–glowing cards on the table.
The goblin rubbed his hands together, a shrewd glint in his eyes. “Respected customer, my inventory is the most complete in the market! 5 tokens a pop. I have as many as you need.”
“3 tokens. I’ll take 50.” Riley lowballed aggressively, keeping her expenditure within a reasonable threshold.
Back on Earth, Riley might have felt a twinge of guilt haggling too hard, assuming small businesses had it tough. But in a dungeon? Facing an ugly NPC? Slashing the price to the bone was a no–brainer. These bizarre vendors were all money–grubbing opportunists
anyway.
Upgrade cards were absolutely critical for her. Her Pioneer’s Wristguard, as a server–first reward, had an insanely high growth ceiling, and her dual battleaxes were starting to feel slightly underpowered against deep–tier monsters and the cross server elite she just fought. Since she could brute–force their stats upward with upgrade cards, stockpiling them to test her gear’s limits was a solid investment.

“Lady, please, ah! You’re killing my margins here, I can’t do business like this,” the goblin whined, looking deeply conflicted
“Then I don’t want them Riley Spun around and walked away without a second thought, leaving the goblin completely dumbfounded.
For Riley, upgrade cards weren’t a life or death necessity right now. If the price wasn’t right, she’d just walk. No big deal.
“Wait! Wait!”
Seeing Riley actually leaving, the goblin practically shrieked.
“We can negotiate! We can talk about it! Don’t walk away so fast…”
The transaction went through smoothly. After that, Riley swept through several potion stalls.
Two bottles of Advanced Vitality Fury Potion: Instantly restores 50% HP when in a critical state and temporarily suppresses pain reception.
One bottle of Neural Reflex Stimulant: For dealing with high–agility elite mobs or players.
Five bottles of Potent Antidote: The dungeon was dark and damp; running into a toxic miasma zone was highly likely. Better safe than sorry.
