She knew better than to charge in blindly.

Any force bold enough to blockade every survivor was nothing like the scattered, opportunistic tooters they had faced before.
Though her personal strength was formidable, charging a heavily fortified blockade with a battered, undergeared team was nothing short of suicide.
“Where are PineappleBeer and TartKing?” Riley lifted her head, her gaze sharp and focused as she looked at Bruce. “Have you heard anything from them?”
Bruce shook his head helplessly. “No news at all. Both the cross–server channel and guild channel are completely locked down. We still have our single–use communication cards, but we haven’t been able to reach them.”
Riley nodded. The disappointment stung, yet the outcome was well within her expectations. She fell silent, her mind racing as she sorted through their options.
“Blood for blood. The debt can’t be erased.”
After a brief pause, Riley stood and spoke firmly.
“We’ll use this chamber as our temporary base. Distribute every single–use communication card we have. Contact every guild member you can locate on this floor. You have 20 hours.”
The Black Fog continued creeping upward. Based on past observations, it would reach Floor 7 within 20 hours. Any members they failed to contact by then would almost certainly be lost for good.
Right after speaking, Riley opened her Inventory.
Clatter!
A mountain of blue–tier equipment tumbled across the stone floor.
Steel breastplates, refined longswords, agility–boosted leather boots… every piece was stockpiled carefully during past snowstorms and her equipment crafting trades.
The blue–quality gear was trivial to Riley now, but for these survivors with broken, ruined equipment, it was more than enough to shore up their defenses.
“Check your gear durability and stats. Swap these in if you need replacements,” Riley instructed, gesturing toward the pile.
Under Riley’s decisive command, the eleven survivors quickly rearmed themselves.
Their entire demeanor shifted in an instant. Despair faded, replaced by renewed fighting spirit and burning resolve for vengeance.
“Now, I’m assigning teams and objectives.”
Riley looked over the fully regrouped survivors and divided their forces without hesitation.
“Bruce, pick five of our strongest fighters to stay stationed outside the chamber. Keep spamming communication cards to locate more guild members on this floor. Guide and escort anyone who responds back to base immediately

The rest of our combat–capable members will split into two six–man squads. I’ll lead one team. LoneWolf and Hanna will lead the
other.
“We aren’t staying cooped up here. For the next 20 hours, we’re going hunting.
“First, we’ll clear hidden threats around our base Second, we’ll patrol and escort any straggling guild members en route. Third… the monsters here have extremely high drop rates. We’ll grind relentlessly to fix our team’s gear deficiencies.”
Once their preparations finished, the two teams departed from the abandoned chamber. They fanned out, advancing deep into the dark, winding tunnels in a wide formation.
The monsters on Floor 8 were far stronger than those on the upper levels.
Less than ten minutes after leaving the base, Riley’s five–man squad came face–to-face with an Abyssal Giant Centipede.
This elite monster stretched over 16 feet, its body covered in dark green chitinous armor. Dozens of spear–like limbs clicked sharply against the stone walls, the sound grating enough to prickle any listener’s nerves.
“Spread out! Stool, hold aggro with your shield!” Riley barked, charging forward first.
The team’s mage chanted an elemental spell instantly. A precise frost strike slammed into the centipede’s head, freezing its
movements for a critical moment.
Stool stepped forward bravely, raising his heavy shield to tank the monster’s venomous spray.
