Chapter 514 Collapsing Blockades
The rest of the survivors stepped forward one after another.
“Thank you so much.”
“We really owe you guys!”
“My little sister’s stuck at another entrance. Can I go get her?”

Hanna kept the line orderly as she replied, “You can go, but don’t wander off. Tell everyone there to come here and line up. No supply fees needed. Watch out for raiders from the other checkpoints on your way.”
Word spread fast.
The news flowed through the tangled tunnels outside the central hall, reaching every remaining entrance.
At first, only the fastest runners went to tell others. Soon, people started passing the update through their communication cards.
Before long, survivors trapped at the other three blockades heard everything.
“The southeast entrance’s open now!”
“Hope Guild isn’t charging any tolls!”
“You can get into the safe zone from there for free!”
Most people refused to believe it at first.
But when they watched group after group of stranded survivors walk into the hall, and even saw some people coming back out to fetch their friends, doubt turned into action.
The survivors waiting in line to hand over their supplies at the other three checkpoints started wavering.
An elderly survivor had just pulled up his Inventory interface. He froze mid–motion the second the news reached his ears.
The looting guard frowned at him. “What’s the hold up?”
The old man looked up nervously. “I heard… we don’t have to pay supplies over at the other entrance?”
“Says who?”
The guard grabbed him roughly by the collar.
The old man paled in fear and held his tongue.
But people at the back of the line were already stepping away.
One person, then two, then three.
Once the first few fled, everyone else lost the will to stay put,
They’d only lined up to be robbed because they had no other choice. Now that a free path existed, even with risks, it was far better

than getting stripped dry here.
The checkpoint raiders quickly reticed the chaos. –
“Hey! Who said you could leave?!!
One guard shouted and raised a crossbow to threaten the crowd.
But the line had already broken apart.
Survivors closed their Inventory screens and turned to run. Others yelled loudly as they fled.
“Head for Hope Guild’s side! Move fast!”
The raiders tried to stop them, but they dared not start a full massacre.

They controlled the entrances to steal supplies through intimidation and numbers, not by killing every last survivor. If they pushed too far, the trapped players would fight back. Other powerful factions inside the safe hall would also target them.
On top of that, they could not chase the fleeing crowd far. Their whole looting operation relied on holding the checkpoints.
Most importantly, the Black Fog was closing in fast. No one wanted to waste their strength on pointless fighting.
The news quickly reached the small leaders of each blockade.
The three teams sent men to meet up in a remote corridor.
“What’s going on? Are your people running too?”
“It’s not just my side. Everyone’s leaving.”
“Who spread this rumor?”
“The east entrance got breached. The two mixed guild teams holding that spot fled back into the safe zone.”
“Useless trash!”
A man wearing a beast–hide pauldron kicked the stone wall hard, his face dark with rage.
୮
“We agreed to hold all four gates together and lock down every entry point. Now one breaks, and everyone’s running there! How are we supposed to loot anything now?!”
A tall, thin man spoke in a cold tone.
“Yelling won’t fix this. We need to block the flow again.”
“Block it? How? Everyone knows there’s a free entrance now. They’ll never line up for us again.”
“Then we take that entrance back.”
Felt silence fell over the group.
Whoever broke the blockade and forced these raiders to retreat was no ordinary group of survivors.
