Chapter 518 Aftermath
The tense atmosphere slowly faded only after their figures vanished deep into the tunnel.
One survivor’s legs went weak, and he nearly collapsed to the ground.
Red Bean shouted at once, “Don’t stop! Keep moving in Don’t break the line!”
Hope Guild’s members got back to work, restoring order.

The survivors who’d frozen in fear finally snapped out of it and hurried toward the entrance. They moved more quietly and carefully as they passed Riley.
Some stared at her with gratitude. Some looked on with awe. Others seemed to regain their strength. They no longer hung their heads while supporting their injured friends.
“Thank you.”
“We really owe you guys.”
“Hope Guild… thank you so much.”
Words of thanks rang out one after another.
Riley did not reply to every single person. She simply stood by the entrance, watching them file safely into the hall.
She sent Hanna’s team to check the injuries of the survivor whose friend had just been killed. She also told Red Bean to question every new group coming through the gate.
“Have any of you seen other Hope Guild members?”
“Has anyone seen an assassin with the ID PineappleBeer? She’s fast and always wears a hood.”
“Or a priest named TartKing who fights with a greatsword?”
RedBean asked every question in thorough detail.
But almost all the answers came back negative.
“Never seen them.”
“I only ran into a few people from small guilds in other tunnels.”
“A priest? No way. A priest wielding a greatsword is super rare. I’d definitely remember someone like that.”
“I’ve seen a few assassins, but I can’t tell if they’re the one you’re looking for.”
Every negative answer darkened the Hope Guild members‘ moods a little more.
There was still no news of TartKing or PineappleBeer.
All communications were cut off. Survivors were scattered everywhere, and the dungeon rules encouraged players to kill each other. The longer they went without updates, the heavier everyone’s unease grew.

Chapter 518 Aftermath
Still, Riley showed no sign of worry.
She kept asking the same questions for every new group that entered.
Meanwhile, the situation at the other three checkpoints began to shift.
First, word came that the raiders were starting to take down their barriers.

Next, reports said they still lingered near the entrances, but they no longer dared openly rob survivors. They simply stared at anyone who passed by.
Before long, survivors trapped at the other checkpoints stopped traveling all the way to Riley’s entrance. They entered the central hall through their original tunnels instead.
The raiders‘ monopoly was broken.
One free entry point out of four was all it took to ruin their looting scheme. Now that everyone knew they could enter without paying supplies, forcing tolls would only make all the survivors unite and fight back.
The raiders had neither the time nor the courage to pay that price.
After confirming the new situation, Riley told Bruce to lock the triggers on the two functional ballistas.
“Dismantle the key parts.”
Bruce frowned. “We’re not leaving them here?”
“For who? The raiders?”
Bruce caught on immediately. He led his team to remove the core rotating latches and firing mechanisms. They took whatever parts they could carry and destroyed the rest.
They were done with the ballistas. They would not leave functional weapons behind for others to block the entrance again.
The stream of survivors outside slowly thinned out.
The last group entered the hall in perfect order. Some helped carry the wounded. Some warned others not to step on the scattered crossbow bolts on the ground. A few even handed unclaimed loot crates to Hanna instead of keeping them for themselves.
RedBean sorted through the supplies and stacked the unclaimed items separately with temporary markers.
“President, no one’s come forward to claim these yet.”
“Bring them inside. If no one claims them, we keep them. We’re not doing all this work for free. Search the whole area for leftover resources. Log everything usable for the snowfields first. Distribute gear to our guild members who need it most. Boosting our combat strength is our top priority.”
“Got it.”
Hanna walked over and lowered her voice.
“All minor injuries are treated. Three regular survivors who charged the checkpoint with us are badly hurt, but they all made it into the safe zone. None of our guild members took heavy damage.”
