Chapter 519 The Central Hall

Riley’s movements paused for a split second.

She quickly tightened her bandages.

The light inside the hall entrance was steadier than out front.

A glowing white barrier stood deep within the central hall. Stepping past that light meant escaping the monster threats and constant fighting outsideif only for a little while.

It was only temporary safety.

Riley glanced back at the broken checkpoint.

There was no point guarding it any longer.

All other factions had abandoned their looting monopoly. Almost every survivor had already made it inside the hall. If Hope Guild stayed outside any longer, they’d only waste precious time. The Black Fog was creeping upward from the dungeon’s lower floors. They couldn’t linger on Floor 8 forever.

Gather up,Riley said. Once we’ve accounted for everyone, we head inside.

The Hope Guild members grouped up right away.

They took all supplies they could carry and destroyed the leftover defensive structures. They stripped the three heavy ballistas of their core parts. They pushed half the temporary barriers aside, leaving a clear path for any straggling survivors still on their way.

Once everything was secure, Riley led her team toward the hall.

The second Riley stepped through the glowing barrier, all outside sounds felt muffled, as if blocked by water.

The distant monster roars echoing through the tunnels faded into faint whispers in an instant.

The next moment, the view opened up completely.

She had entered Floor 8’s central hall.

A towering dome stretched high overhead, over 33 feet above the ground. Faint graywhite luminous lines lined the curved stone walls. The light wasn’t harsh, yet it brightened the entire massive space evenly. There were no lamps or torches. Those glowing veins belonged to the dungeon itself, pulsing slowly in time with the countdown timer.

The hall was far larger than Riley had expected.

It didn’t look ruined or cold like the tunnels outside. It felt more like a public resting area forcebuilt inside the dark dungeon.

Dark gray stone tiles covered the wide floor, with thin mosses filling the gaps. Stone benches and tables lined both sides of the hall. In the center stood several circular decorative planters. No real flowers grew inside themonly stone carvings shaped like plants.

Further into the hall stood several giant stone statues.

Armored knights, staffwielding mages, and unfamiliar alien figures of unknown origins ringed the outer edges of the hall. They stood like silent, watching spectators.

If not for the crowd of beatendown survivors filling every corner, the place would’ve looked just like a park square back on Earth.

The members of Hope Guild stepped through the barrier one after another.

The second RedBean crossed over, she instinctively touched her arm. We’re regenerating HP here.

Riley felt it too.

The wound on her side warmed gently. It wasn’t the sudden, obvious healing from TartKing’s spells or instant potion recovery. It was slow, steady, and passive regeneration.

Her health climbed back up bit by bit.

Her stamina refilled as well.

Even the heavy fatigue built from constant running and fighting faded away little by little.

Hanna helped an injured guild member inside. She relaxed slightly after seeing his complexion improve. No wonder everyone fights so hard to reach the central hall. As long as you get in, you can recover even without potions.

It’s a safe zone and a recovery zone rolled into one,Bruce said, staring up at the dome. Those raiders knew exactly what they were doing.

The more they understood how valuable this hall was, the clearer the raiderscruelty became.

The people trapped outside hadn’t just been robbed of supplies.

They’d been blocked from their only chance to recover and survive

Riley stayed quiet and scanned the entire hall.

The space was packed.

Survivors occupied every corner. Some leaned against benches to rest. Some sat on the ground tending to their wounds. Others hugged their backpacks tight, halfasleep but never fully letting their guard down. Small teams huddled in circles, talking quietly with their weapons always within reach.

No combat was allowed in the safe zone, but old instincts didn’t fade just because of a rule.

Especially not for people who’d barely survived endless bloodshed.
