Chapter 525 HardShell Fiends

Chapter 525 HardShell Fiends

The entire team spawned together, and it was a great start.

Riley stayed quiet at first.

She took in their surroundings carefully.

Floor 9 felt nothing like Floor 8.

Floor 3 still looked like a proper dungeon. Grayblack stone tiles lined the tunnels. Walls, floors, and archways were all built from solid stone. The place was broken and worn, but it still resembled an ancient maze.

Here, the stone tiles and tunnels remained, yet everything looked corrupted.

Dark brown roots snaked through wall cracks, spreading across the stone like driedup veins. A thin layer of gray dust covered the ground, crunching softly under every step. Clusters of translucent mushroom lamps hung between distant stone pillars. Their light was dim, barely enough to reveal twisted shapes lining the walls.

Some sections looked split open by creeping vines.

Others were covered in white mineral crust, like bone plating sealing the entire wall surface.

Bruce lowered his voice.

Feels like something’s taken over this whole floor.

Hanna raised her crossbow, ready in hand.

Doesn’t matter what it is. Assume everything here can move and attack.

Riley nodded in agreement.

The higher they climbed in the dungeon, deadlier each floor became. The monsters on Floor 8 were already strong enough to threaten players. Floor 9 would only be worse.

She opened the guild interface.

Regular server comms were still blocked, but they’d stocked up on singleuse communication cards beforehand. Without hesitation, Riley pulled one out and crushed it.

The card dissolved into tiny light specks and merged into her system screen.

Several names on the grayedout guild contact list lit up instantly.

Fourteen people in total.

Riley’s eyes scanned the list fast.

LoneSparrow.

Felix.

Plenty of other familiar guild members.

She also spotted the four players who’d reached this floor early. They weren’t official core members, but they counted as temporary allies for this dungeon run.

RedBean leaned over quickly.

How many can we reach?

Fourteen.

Riley read off a few key names.

Hanna’s eyes brightened.

LoneSparrow and the others are alive.

Bruce let out a quiet breath of relief.

Felix too? That guy’s tough to kill.

Riley didn’t relax one bit.

Fourteen lit names meant those members were within the card’s signal range and on the same floor.

But PineappleBeer and TartKing’s names stayed dark.

She stared at the list for a long second.

Nothing.

Still nothing.

RedBean noticed her silence and spoke softly.

I’ll contact them. You keep scouting the terrain.

Riley nodded and handed temporary communication authority over to her.

RedBean immediately started sending messages, This is RedBean. President has reached Floor 9. Reply with your coordinates.

LoneSparrow, Felix, Damian, send your location or nearby landmarks immediately.

Dayshift’s group, hold your position. Find cover and don’t move.

She hadn’t finished typing when a loud crash echoed from the deeper right tunnel.

A short shout followed right after.

Monsters!

The call came from two guild members who’d gone ahead to scout.

She was already sprinting toward the right tunnel before her words landed.
