Chapter 534 Rushing to the Next Floor
Riley locked eyes with him. You saw them?”
The survivor grew nervous under her gaze and quickly set down his rations.

“Yeah, I’m sure I did. It was over ten hours ago. I’d just reached the central hall, back when there weren’t nearly this many people.
“Two people were selling potions in that corner. Their prices were a little cheaper than the NPC merchants!”
He nodded toward the stone pillar across from the blacksmith shop.
“One was a thin girl, quiet, always with her weapon slung on her back. The other was a young guy with glasses. He kept calculating prices and warning buyers not to chug random potions.
“He said some potions had conflicting effects. It was just the two of them the whole time.”
RedBean’s face lit up. “It’s ToxicReaper.”
“Nobody’s with her too,” Hanna added.
The description matched perfectly.
Riley pressed the question immediately. “Where did they go?”
The survivor thought for a second.
“They were selling potions one minute, then suddenly left for Floor 10. They seemed in a huge hurry.”
“In a hurry?”
“Yeah.” He nodded firmly.
“I thought it was weird at the time. The hall’s a safe zone. Outside’s full of danger. Most people would drag their feet and stay as long as they could.
“But they rushed. They dumped a bunch of potions at a low price, traded them for Frost Tokens and a few repaired pieces of gear, then headed straight through the central gate.”
“They went to Floor 10?”
“That’s right.”
“Exactly how long ago?”
“Over ten hours ago.” The survivor frowned, unsure of the exact time.
ľ
“I can’t pin it down to the hour, but it was way before your group got here. I’d just entered the hall, and there was still plenty of time left, so I didn’t rush to move on.”
Riley kept pushing. “Did they say why they were in such a rush?”
The survivor shook his head.

4 couldn’t hear much. They spoke really softly. I only caught the guy with glasses saying ‘we can’t wait‘ and ‘they might be up
ahead.“‘
“The quiet girl barely said a word. She just kept staring toward the central gate.”
RedBean and Hanna exchanged a glance.
They…
The single word carried huge weight.
Riley’s eyes darkened.
If ToxicReaper and Nobody had only been running for their lives, they wouldn’t have abandoned the safe zone in such a rush.
Discounting their potions for tokens and repaired gear wasn’t blind panic flight. It was a calculated resupply before pressing onward.
They must have gotten some kind of intel.
And the “they” they’d mentioned was almost certainly Pineapple Beer and TartKing.
“Did either of them look injured?” Riley asked.
The survivor thought back.
“Nope. Their gear looked solid. They seemed pretty strong.”
“Did anyone follow them?”
“I can’t say for sure.” The survivor hesitated.
“Plenty of people noticed their potion sale. Prices were cheaper than the NPC’s, and the guy with glasses clearly had more stock on him. But I didn’t see anyone chase after them.”
RedBean’s expression turned grim.
Potions were the hardest currency in the dungeon.
By selling potions cheap, ToxicReaper traded fast and restocked quickly but he’d also revealed he carried rare, high–value
resources.
For any survivor short on supplies, people like him were prime targets.
Hanna asked, “Why didn’t you keep moving?”
The survivor let out a bitter laugh.
“I had no other guild members to link up with. I had no idea what the upper floors were like. I didn’t dare risk it. I just wanted to rest in the hall while I could.
“There was still plenty of time left, so I figured I’d stall as long as possible.”
It was the same choice most survivors made.

Riley dropped the topic. She pulled out two potions and handed them to him as thanks.
The survivor froze for a second, then scrambled to take them.
“Whoa, thanks a ton! Hope you guys find your friends soon!”
Free rewards earned free well wishes.
Riley turned and walked back toward their resting spot.
RedBean fell into step beside her, speaking quietly.
